1. Laptops!

I'm moving to Chicago to go to DePaul University. I'm going to study CG Animation and Game Development. Much why I got this baby. PS- The bd drive is a slot-loader.
2. Laptops!

I'm getting a new one for $1,605 after student discount. Ordered it about a month ago. I just hope mine doesn't come with problems. HP is a bit of an annoyance.
3. Ranks

Lol.. gay blue? Ah well for now I guess I'm teh lowbie grey!
4. The one I've been playing on is wD.Jailbreak, and they have a cmd called !lr in which the last 2 t's get to do last requests such as knife fight people, shot for shot, etc.
5. What specs are you running on? It could be that your game is taking too much CPU to process the PTT key... It's happened to me on my old pc which was single core, but pretty fast. You can try going into task manager and changing ventrilo.exe's priority to something higher (I wouldn't recommend Maximum, some games get effed when u do that) in the Process List.
6. Well if you installed vista without reformatting, Vista pretty much gives you the option to put all your stuff from your old installation into a folder... I can't remember what it was called though since I'm not on it atm... but it's like C:\Windows.old or something.
7. *copy pasta ala xfire* Manufacturer: Custom Built Processor: Intel® Xeon® CPU E3110 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 3326MB RAM (2x2GB) Hard Drive: 74 GB + 250 GB + 750 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 g92 Monitor: SyncMaster 940T/940B/940Be,SyncMaster Magic CX914B(Digital) Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio output Speakers/Headphones: Logitech 5.1 Surround Sound Z-540 Keyboard: USB Root Hub Mouse: Logitech MX518 Mouse Surface: Optic Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp.080413-2111) I'm going to upgrade my keyboard and headset to get the Saitek Cyborgs. I'll post pics once I get those in.
8. Just make sure that the back of your soundcard/computer has jacks that say rear (black), front (green), and center/sub (orange). The pinkish/red is mic in. If you're not sure what you have, look in your motherboard manual or soundcard manual. I'm using the x-540 which has "matrix" mode, which converts stereo to surround, and does a great job, though not real surround. I'm going to upgrade to the Z-5500 probably around holiday season.
9. building pc

I do like eVGA. I have the 8800gts 512mb g92 and it came with Crysis at the time.
10. I have a dfi lp lt p35 t2r with my x3110 (same as e8400 w/ Xeon brand) and that's a sweet combo. DFI+e8400 is a good choice. Just make sure your CPU is compatible. That AMD is a socket 939 and the dfi is for intel socket 775.
11. I got Vista Ultimate for $60 from an M$ employee/friend. It is retail and I love it for everything it is compatible with. The only thing I hate is TrustedInstaller.exe. It really eats up your CPU. I wish they'd auto-prioritize to lowest priority so it won't lag me up in the middle of gaming. On my brand new pc I built, I'm only running XP MCE for now until I get an additional HDD. On my vista pc, it booted up on Vista much faster than XP booted, however, I had more than recommended specs for vista and that could be why. It seems vista runs much faster than xp in some cases if you have a blazing fast computer.
12. I bought that ram when it was ~$110.. /=| but that was a year or two ago.
13. I'm using XP MCE on my brand new PC, and I actually miss Vista. A lot of XP is more stable, but Vista just seems to start up better. My laptop runs XP Pro and it gets so many BSODs from the ATI mX1600 it's unbelievable. Also, the XP default wireless connection tool is total crap. It often says it's connected to something when it really isn't, and does all this other messy crap I don't want to blab about, so I use my laptops Intel PROset Wireless CP... SOOOO MUCH BETTER. Anyways, Vista's default networking is much better imo.
14. Please quote me where I said that, I cannot find it. :S
15. My new Comp

It is supported, and I can't even get to the point where I can update the bios because it isnt working with any 775 cpu atm. I'm gonna try another PSU tomorrow. It's just bad luck for me. EDIT- HAH. MY dumb arse this time just forgot to put in the other power connection to the mobo. LOL.
16. My new Comp

Yup. Got my 2nd mobo today, still having problems, cept this time, I think it could be the PSU. The Diagnostic LCD isn't even turning on this time... bad luck for me.
17. I never said to get anything over an e8400/q6600, I think those are the best for your money.
18. Zero, I have a 45nm cpu with my DFI mobo. This is my setup: http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/WishList/PublicWishDetail.asp?Source=MSWD&WishListNumber=7408851 (already had the gfx card/hdd so it turned out to be under $700) There's nothing wrong with DFIs and my wolfdale core. My DFI was just DOA. :\
19. New cheap compy

Hah. I didn't even check that those links. Nice call.
20. My new Comp

FFS. I'm getting told my mobo is DOA because it's thowing out Jibberish on the post code LED display *sigh*
21. New cheap compy

Well, with the mobo you've listed, the fastest RAM you can get is 667. My mobo supports Dual Channel DDR2 800, but it costs nearly 200 bucks lol.
22. Since I don't want to rezz an old thread that went OT, I'll start a new one. Me- CSPhobos EvInReaLife - BiodiumFallout Italian Jew - Italian Jew Havok - Capt Darling Saxe - Aumuller ---------------- I'll update the list from replies.
23. My new Comp

Hah grats! Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near my computer atm so I don't have a chance yet to flash my bios before I reinstall my stuff.
24. New cheap compy

You're going to want to have a video card if you are going to play CSS at reasonable framerates integrated gfx aren't that great anymore...
25. I'd get a 9600GT if I were you. The 320mb one is slower by a little bit, and hogs a lot more space. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130334 eVGA might also offer a 3-month stepup program, which means you can exchange that product with a newer one in that price range like they did with my 8800gts 512mb g92
