I was going to refrain from posting in here, but I had to bite considering there's a lot of animosity without enough accountability. I can't help but notice a lot of "B listers" here airing out their grievances with the community who they themselves were also guilty of the same offenses that the current management is under fire for. A lot of you too either were not active or did little to nothing in your time as staff. The general mismanagement that has been spoken of in this thread is something some of you were the Game 6 LeBron at doing effortlessly. The slack then had to be picked up by the staff around you. It was almost like pulling teeth to get responses from you for anything during your tenure - and then you either stepped down/got demoted due to inactivity and fell off the face of the Earth only to come back to this very point in time and share with us your "wisdom" on how to improve SG via. I'm not referring to everyone, those who I actually sat down and put hours into this place with know who they are. However, if you have enough doubt to ask yourself if I'm referring to you, well all I can say is "if the shoe fits then you must wear it." That being said, I do think there absolutely could be some more activity from those at the top. It has always been hard for the community to get the ball rolling during the President/Vice President's inactivity. It should be recognized that people have lives outside of SG and are probably very engulfed in that. The same way that you all who left were and still very likely are - myself included. I see a lot more criticism than constructive criticism here - probably because some of you have some sort of history with the people in charge that did not end favorably for you. Instead of sitting there ragging on those damn dirty inactive BDs without providing any ideas on how to improve the community - be the change you want to see here. Help the current staff populate servers, engage on the forums in a meaningful way, sit in Discord while you have your drink and hop on whatever game you're playing. Or, if you don't want to/don't have the time to - kindly go back to browsing the forums lightly and move on like the rest of us. Activity on all fronts from everyone and unity are the two most vital components to rebuilding this community. I don't think criticism has to be void of calling people out - but it's become more of a pissing contest than it is actual insightful and beneficial to SG's growth. I'm certainly not shy of inactivity myself - I spent months completely away from the community while I was in the BD role this last time around. But I decided since I was only here in an advisory role anyway I might as well not hold up a slot and offer what insight I could from the sidelines. There is no shame in being straightforward on SG's issues, but pointing your fingers at the "problem" and offering no real solution does nothing but make you appear like a disgruntled former employee. I welcome anyone who is passionate enough to post on this thread about the issues in leadership to get back into staff and help make a change. Can't get those fresh new legs you want in staff if you don't try yourself or push for the people who are currently in staff trying to move up. P.S. Fuck you Dominic - not for being a bad staff member but because you didn't get my reboot card in Fortnite.

He has been super active/dedicated towards Surf and even the community as a whole. Bearing that in mind along with Surf's resurgence in activity, we felt this was a no-brainer. His new responsibilities will include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot Dead/Lagged servers Manage Player complaints/bans Assist in training new admins Handle admin disputes Monitor the Discord server Grant access rights to Discord Give awards to members on request Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to server and fast downloads site Edit map lists and rotations Issue player perma bans via request from SA's Teach admins how to demo/ban/screenshot proof Congratulations buddy! @triou

He recently displayed his interest in helping get the ball rolling with the new team, so it was a no brainer to get him on board. His new responsibilities will include: Create community events to bring our player base together Promote activity on all of our platforms including servers / forums / Discord Discuss ideas to increase activity on our platforms Research advertising & partnership opportunities Recommend general marketing ideas for the community Caido was promoted to Administrative Officer as a consolation prize for his unsuccessful and overall terrible corny joke threads. On a more serious note, he has been very active across multiple servers and super dedicated towards the betterment of the community in general. Bearing in mind his technical prowess and his dedication for our servers, this was a pivotal move to make. The only issue with Morbus was that the creator of the game mode stopped supporting development on it altogether. During the waning days of our server, it was so bugged that it was literally unplayable. I thought it was really fun too, but unfortunately I don't think that's a route we can go down as it stands.

I can't remember if it had traitor traps on it at all, but the map was fun enough by itself. I would absolutely love to see this map back on the server. Posting a request for it to gather community input and the server managers' input so I'm not just adding maps to the server freely out of nostalgia. Please welcome Acer, Caido, and Phoenix_ as our newest Technical Administrators. The Board needed a few guys to help troubleshoot our technical issues by telling us to turn things off and on again - and no, not Dominic's mom this time you guys. Their responsibilities will include: Fix technical issues that arise day to day (servers/site) Research mods, scripts and plugin to improve our servers Develop solutions to improve our servers/mods performance Discover and fix exploits against our servers/sites Assist in data backup operations for the communities data Manage the servers, website, forums, and bansites, based on experience Keep all web services up to date and functional Assist the AO/BD staff when problems arise or others are on vacation To conclude this thread, we decided that we're going to be discontinuing the Junior Technical Administrator rank effective immediately. Our TA's are already granted certain access based on what is necessary for their work, so we felt simplifying things was the best move to make. Hello everyone, We have a couple exciting announcements for you today! We'll be bringing up a couple more guys up to our AO team, in addition to releasing a little surprise for you all. Firstly, we'd like to welcome Pyro Looga and Kopsta to our Administrative Officer team! Pyro Looga has been CA for some time already, but we're most interested in his passion for Team Fortress 2, and he will hopefully help us to once again venture into it. Kopsta on the other hand has already had an orange name in the past and has returned to help us with our Surf server. We have some big plans for Surf and hope to make it something big, and Kopsta will be behind us on that. Congratulations to you both! Next, we'd like to announce to you all the return of TeamSpeak! This has been given out to the admins for a bit already so it's no surprise to most of you, however we wanted to make it official. We have no interest in 'establishing' ourselves in TeamSpeak or anything of the sort, it's just a small 32 slot server to call back to old times and hopefully, maybe, promote more voice interaction among the community. I know us Directors will probably spend a lot of time in there as we already prefer doing our meetings there, so you'll probably catch us around. You can use any of the following IPs to connect to the server: - 135.148.3.6 - ts.steam-gamers.net - teamspeak.steam-gamers.net We hope you guys enjoy it, and if there's a demand for it we may end up increasing the slots.
