  1. no scp is shit >> ssh user@host "cd $filedir ; cat $file" > $file for dir >> ssh user@host "cd $abovedir ; tar c $dir" | tar x stick to ssh + commands or name the pipes with nc, scp is stupid crap and sftp is slightly better (though only works with files) edit: scp stand for shit corruptcopy protocol
  2. Newegg.com - LG E2360V-PN Glossy Black 23" 1080p 5ms Full HD LED BackLight LCD Monitor Slim Design 250cd/m2 DC 5,000,000:1 is decent and is something I'd buy. I'd also look at all the monitors Zealot recommended. In my opinion, it isn't worth it to spend over $300 for a 1920x1080(or 1200) monitor nowadays. Around $200-250 is a reasonable price. Any less and it's from the previous generation of monitors. As for the Dell monitor you initially mentioned, it carries a premium because of its "accurate color display" and that is something I don't have first-hand knowledge of. I don't think you'd need it unless you're really interested in art and photography. Ignore marketing propaganda.
  3. eklo is a life-threatening virus that instantly produces a bullet-shaped hole in your head, it usually afflicts people when they turn corners or open doors

  4. logitech m100 http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-pointers/mice/devices/5753 I'm serious, best bang for you buck, mice don't do shit for any ingame aim, however since you mention that you'd need the extra mice button, yes your choice works fine
  5. Read your post, get over it.

  6. True, which is why I keep my hands out of this grinder. However, I do take issue when an admin flatout lies on my ban appeal and server logs show that I'm correct and the admin evidently shows he has no idea of what hes talking about, and then nothing happens to the admin. Then there's also the fact that almost every regular and admin on TTT knows I don't rdm. Then for making up some bs about me griefing, tell me where I get that opportunity to grief when I can easily kill 12+ ppl in a round by myself. And it's not Harpreets fault, theres no reason for him to remember every recent detail. I'm tired of seeing this also: using "then post a demo" excuse, but its a double standard - admins can ban and say "if i had demo, you would see" but players have "then post a demo if u have proof" -- It should be one rule for all, no special treatment As an aside: Need less griefing admins, if you can't learn to aim in a fps, dont complain when you get beat, and worse, dont revenge by making up some bs ban. As for TTT, if you have ears, youre lucky to have them and please please please use them to hear whats going on.
  7. I use a Filco 104-blank keys with Cherry Blues, mechanical keyboards are a good investment if you can use them properly. I type maybe 10 pages worth of text everyday, and the keyboard still feels new after 4+ months of usage. There's a definite feel for mechanical keyboards vs rubber domes, but both will do the job of typing. Don't forget that there are multiple kinds of mechanical switches. Most mechanical keyboards will use either the Cherry Blues or Browns. The Cherry Blacks are recommend for gamers. As for gaming, since my forte is in FPS, I don't see much of a difference between mechanical and rubber domes (but then again I've never had the need to use anything other than a stock $15 wired optical mouse). I've dabbled in RTS and been friends with a few people who were really good at them and had high APM (actions per minute, similar to WPM) and that's the only place where I could see a definite advantage. If you want more info, here's a good long page about it: http://www.overclock.net/keyboards/491752-mechanical-keyboard-guide.html
  8. Sorry to hear you of all people got banned eklo. Some bias shit going on if you ask me.

  9. Really, I thought that link to the Steam Community page would work

  10. i never knew you were eklo ;/

  11. if you're still looking, Altec Lansing VS2621 would probably be a nice pair of speakers I do recommend going to your local music store (they should carry digital equipment in 2010 now) and checking their options, its handy to bring an audio cd, they should let you test it out on their speakers (if not dont worry about going to them any longer)
  12. he basically switched to a compiler that was developed with windows in mind; a lot of c++ books recommend installing dev-c++ as your default compiler because of its ease of use in windows, linux users have the gcc collection of tools and distros usually come with c/c++/python etc compilers preinstalled, which is very handy harry had the right idea since most of the time compilers are installed on windows, they arent added into the path environment variable; adding that will cause any new instance of cmd.exe to be invisibly attached to the C:/compiler/bin directory of course, you could just write your source files in the same directory as C:/compiler/bin but that is bad juju
