GameOverlayUI.exe is something from steam itself if I'm not wrong. This should automatically close when you close CS:S. Everything looks normal on there.. except from the fact that you have a shitton running on the background (all the "Owner" stuff). Idk if that is something what XP all needs, but yeah.. I'm using windows 7 so I can't really tell.

Well at least now you got a better antivirus :V Euhm now serious. Pres CTRL + ALT + DEL (all together) so a menu will pop up, click "Task Manager". As soon as Task Manager open, click on the tab called "Processes" and maximize the window. Take a screenshot of that window and show me the screenshot, so I can see what activities you have running that could influence your FPS.

You sure you uninstalled it and not simply closed it? Because that's a big difference. (The program must be GONE from your pc, so you can't open it anymore)

Just take MSE, that should work too. (I only gave avast since that is free and good too, but so is MSE) Just uninstall Norton and install MSE

Well I would start with removig that crap. I'm serious. There are LOTS of free antiviruses that are A LOT better. Google AVG, this one is ok. Norton is probably the thing running on the background eating your CPU, RAM AND Internet connection speed. When removed try css again.

Normally without any tweaks you should get 50fps at least, yes. Are you sure there isn't anything running on the background which eats your CPU or RAM?

With this you should be getting at least 50fps o.O

Already have sony vegas 9 pro, but I'll try Harry's post and compare to how vegas does it and see what's the best

Delete clientregistery.blob from your steam folder and then restart steam. If that doesn't work then remove everything except steam.exe and the folder named steamapps, then run steam.exe and let it update automatically. You won't have to reinstall your games because you'll still have them in your steamapps foldr.

I need a good recording software for games that can do this: - Take screenshots - Record vids (duh) - Doesn't have 1Gb vids for only 1 minute recording (Fraps..) - Doesn't need too much from your hardware (to keep the frames rate high) I have 2 recording softwares installed atm: 1) Fraps - Good quality, but huge files.. takes ages to compress the files 2) Xfire - Quality is just meh, but has small files, doesn't eat your frames, but minecraft isn't supported So, if you know of any good software, please share
