  1. hmm, so you have 1 120mm fan and 3 80 mm fans on that one cooler? or are the 3 80mm fans just in the case? because thats REALLY impressive for just plain old air cooling
  2. i did go to the most prestigious high school in america :-) thanks though :-).
  3. what are you using, im assuming some type of water from the small delta between idle and load
  4. Video Cards

    im extreme RAWR
  5. Video Cards

8600 wont last long at all. the problem is its a first gen dx10 card, and on the lower end. if he diciedes to ever upgrade to vista and play dx10 he will be fucked. so its not future proof at all. also, to have a decent rig you would want a 850+ psu by a name brand. antec's are good, as are tt and coolermaster (i got a coolermaster 1250) a good powersupply means that you can overclock more, upgrade more, and your parts last longer. as for your 100 dollar video card. i suggest you go on ebay and get a 8800. you can find an 8800 for 100 dollars easy. 6. Bioshock 2 teaser!

  7. heres a mini review of my new cooler. if you guys want more info just ask. my old cooler was a coolit eliminator (came with the system) my old temperature running a amd 125 watt phenom at 1.3v was 43 idle and 55-58 load my new cooler the freezone has a max tempertature with 100% load on all four cores is 39.5 idle is around 27 id call that an epic win! what im looking foward to doing a mod and combining the two coolers to go under ambient edit- i will post tommorow how high i can overclock now :-) my motherboard will limit my overclock... i gotta get that new dfi..
  8. thanks, its only about 3 hours away :-)

  9. G1

you can. sorry, but iphone has fetch :-p im not trying to rain on the g1, its a good phone but it is not "better" than the iphone. every one has their own needs and the g1's only real feature compared to the iphone is the keyboard. everything else its the same basically.
  10. G1

i thought u meant app store when you said itunes store lol.
  11. G1

http://gizmodo.com/394208/android-will-have-an-app-store-like-the-iphone http://www.businessweek.com/the_thread/techbeat/archives/2008/10/handango_the_fi.html?campaign_id=rss_blog_techbeat :-) its fast, but not as fast as an iphone, picture quality cant really say if its better or not.
  12. im scared of butt pirates, and heights.

  14. G1

g1 cant do that either. acourding to several reviews i read. " You can't use this phone as a modem for your PC, at least not yet." as quoted from pc magazine. :-/ it might get an update but i wouldnt hold my breath.
  15. G1

well not to rain on your parade, but the phone has some serious down sides. tmobiles 3g coverage area is tiny so your internet will be edge (which isnt too fast), and in the areas that there is 3g, its still slow. also, g1 isnt multi touch, the camera is fuzzy and takes a long time to focus. another huge downside imo, is that it uses micro sd cards. so to use it for music you have to invest even more money. though overall if you want a good internet phone on t-mobile the g1 is great. its not perfect but it is great ohh and about your comment about the itunes store... the g1 has it :-p and im 100% sure the g1 will have better apps because the android is an open platform for developers so you dont have that stupid sdk fee apple has nor do you have that nda you have to sign. :-)
  16. ok, if you want to overclock you have to know the following your motherboard chipset/manufacturer what bios revision you have standard core temperature and voltage safe operating temperature of your cpu assuming you know all that, overclocking is easy. 1- go into your bios and look at your cpu, increase the fsb by about 5mhz and check if it boots. keep repeating until it wont boot. 2- once it cant boot increase your vcore. (dont do anything over 1.5 unless you got some ln2 handy or a nice powerfull phase changer) slowly by .05 untill it boots (test if its stable once you get into windows) 3- repeat step 1 4- repeat step 2 the whole time keep a look out at temperatures and make sure your in safe operating temperature. remember, the better cooling you have the better your overclock is. invest in a nice phase change, peltier or ln2 closed loop (or if your really hard core get a 22,000 psi and use solid nitrogen!) if you need more help ask. but since you didnt provide motherboard or chipset or bios i couldnt give you more specific advice. hope this helped.

  18. that idea has been around for a long time. mineral oil is most commonly used to my knowledge. the bad part about it is that while it lowers temperatures it doesnt do it by much compared to air. the only positive is its quiet. also upgrading a oil cooler pc is really really really hard as to go and prevent oil from leaking you basically "seal" the case. so you cant open it and nothing goes in or out. so your stuck with your original parts. unless of course you got a blow torch of something..... either way if you want some nice cooling look at an ln2 closed loop, tec coolers, or good water cooling if you need help with peltiers, or phase, or ln2 let me know and ill try my best to walk you through it. watercooling is babby stuff and you shouldnt need any help :-)
