Im a Network/Data Backup Consultant currently on Contract with Aegon Insurance in IOWA. I became a consultant about a year ago after losing my full time Job as a Systems Admin for a small company. Getting layed off was the best thing that could have happended because now I make 3 times what I used too, but I have to travel now. On the bills front I have a lot so need to keep the income high to keep up with things. I will be making some changes in the organization of the current staff of ZM to better adapt to our current growth and to take advantage of our current resources. I do not have the available time to manage a community of this size by my self. I will be empowering two of my current EO’s with additional responsibilities to help fill my void and continue the success of Zombie Murder. I would like to announce the creation of the Zombie Murder Board of Directors. I will be changing my title to Chairman/Founder. Zero will become the Director of Gaming, and Henda will remain the Director of Operations. This promotion will give them the ability to take over any and all tasks that I currently handle including approving pending admins, supporting all game server operations, creating/closing servers, managing finances, administering admin warnings/terminations, and the day to day operations of the forum. You will be in good hands with these two at the helm. All important decision must be made mutually between both Henda and Zero and they will consult me if needed. I will be spending more time with my family and spending more time focused on my career. When I can find time I will spend it gaming and getting to know our newer admins and community members.

I appriciate everyones opinions here and to everyone who help me decide what to do. Why I bought it in the first place: I already have a good system at home. This system is just a newer one that I demanded to keep under $550. I will be using my old system during the week while I am in IOWA on biz and the new system while im at home on the weekends. My son plays on the old system currently and I didnt want to leave him without a gamer during the week. So in the end I needed two cheaper systems that allow both of us to play any game we want whithout spending much. In the end they both will perform good on todays games and I am happy with that result, which really is all that matters. PS: I would spend alot more on system parts if I didn't have adult bills :-). My mortage/utils/phones/tv/cars cost me $2,600 a month so gaming has to come second to that.

Jager, Echo, SD. Do you think I would be better off putting my 3.2 D processor in place of the 2.0 I just bought. Spec wise it should preform better right? I know it will produce alot more heat then the newer version 2.0 but what do you think? No changes can be made now, like I said I purchased it last night.

I already own a better one then you suggested. I might put it into the new system and the 2.0 into my old system. The one I own now: Intel Pentium D 3.2GHz / 2MB Cache / 800 FSB / Socket 775 / Dual-Core. According to Jager I am better of with a 2.0 dual core intel then a 2.6 dual core from amd. These days I really dont know the diff anymore other then written specs but Jager is a hardware reviewer so if he says a little less from Intel is still better then AMD I will beleive him.

Your kinda missing the point in what I was doing. My goal was to build a good system for a certain price, with your changes I would have paid alot more total. The config I bought last night is more then acceptable to me. Ofcourse it sucks compared to what is availible, but im not someone to blow $2000 on a sytem just to say I have it. If I can play all current games and run them smooth I have accomplished my goal and saved a lot of money. The system I have at home is probably half the specs of the one I just bought and I can play CSS and tf2 without lag at around 80-120 FPS. I guess I just dont see the point in over kill, but I always see the point in not wasting money :-).

I agreed with Jager as well which is why you can see a lot of changes in my final config, which I ordered last night. I personally dont care about the sata dvd. My wife burns 2 movies a week with it and has all the free time in the world, so no big deal there. Also I have no intent of SLI atm just figured since I have to buy a good video card might as well get another of what I already have and I will be ready for SLI the next time I build a system.

Ok after some help from Jager (the hardware whore) we managed to make the system a lot better and lower the price 15 bucks. Here is the rig I will be buying. This is a budget system because I dont like to blow to much money on things I dont need, but in the end im pretty happy with the cost/performance of this one.

I searched when I made the AWP server and found a few maps but I dont think they are suited for the server. Who ever has the time please find AWP maps that would be fun for small amounts of players. Give me the link and I will add them. I need atleast 5 maps and want a few of them to be simple small maps like field maps with a few boxes. Thanks in advance for you help.

Reload and Napalm were always seperate till I moved napalm onto the physical server that Reload was on basically merging the two into what is now known as Napalm. Anyone is welcome to play there, its just a invite to get noobs to try it out, besides if it atracts alot of noobs then we can join and own them.

Well I think it is about time that I update everyone on where things are at server wise. We have changed/added so many different servers that I bet most of you don't even know what they are or that we have them. I will try and give you a description about each server and hope that you try each of them out. Napalm of course has always been our most popular server and has been around for over a year now. It is and will always be regular zombie mod with napalm grenades. As of late it has gone through some changes including a complete revamp of the map list, some newer skins and decreases in slot count to cut down on lag. Look for more improvements soon! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- US escape is simply a dedicated escape server that only runs escape maps. The server has become more popular than any of our others and now has a solid map rotation of 10 escape maps. If you’re not an admin it can be hard to get on the server during prime time since it is always full. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VIP escape is a twist on our regular escape servers. Not only do you have to escape from the zombies and get to the safe points but you also have to protect the VIP human because if he dies the zombies win. Special thanks to Jack Sparrow and Silent Zombie for pushing this idea to me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UK escape is identical to the US escape server only it is hosted in London to give us a good ping presence over there. It is very popular during the day time which is their prime time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Breakfloor was a crazy idea I had that proved to be very fun and is still very popular today. It is zombie mod on maps like breakfloor and breakceiling. Instead of using cades your goal is to dig your way into the floor or ceiling to hide or simply break all the blocks around you so no zombies can reach you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GunGame is my personal favorite at the moment and is generally full during the weekends and some weekdays during the night. It is reverse gun game, meaning that you start with the most powerful weapons and work your way down to knife. You have to get 1 kill with each weapon in the game to win. Good luck because nade level is a bitch, but fun. Special thanks to Riggs for donating to open this server and setting it up for us. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AWP challenge was just added yesterday and should prove to be a lot of fun when you just want to mess around with friends. You are only allowed your knife and an AWP. The maps are spaced out so you have to scope to find your enemy and hope you pull the trigger first, but look out because he could be standing next to you with a knife. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Team Fortress 2 is a lot of fun and I hope to see many of you starting to play that as well. Since very few of us have TF2 yet, the server is struggling and could use some of our attention. Mani Mod was just released for TF2 so you should see it on that server soon. We might be changing the server to 24/7 2fort soon depending on its performance in the near future. Special thanks to Zero001 who spent his own money to open and manage this server for us.
