I know that we just did a few promotions, but we are too giddy to hold these new ones back any longer. Our first promotion to Community Advisor is someone who actively takes the time to address current issues and suggestions in our community, always making sure to post lengthy (sometimes boring) posts. Nonetheless, we feel that he will do a great job as CA. Please welcome Goku to his new rank! His duties will include: Advise the higher staff on important decisions Handling player complaints and issuing bans Moderation of the forum Give awards to members on request Send group invitations to members on request Keep servers clean from rule breakers Issue warnings/kicks/bans Screenshot/demo proof for permanent bans Request permanent bans via on the forum Post in-game server problems on the forum Help in any way to make the servers fun The next promotion is not a new AO, but a new Board of Director. This person has been an AO for years, has always stuck around, and has always given valuable input when the time came. He also completed the surf server in a very timely manner. He has also agreed to use his fucking microphone during important meetings from now on. If you haven't guess it by now...Bread is going to be SG's newest BD! His new duties include: Support/build/fix servers Approve admin applications Set up new Admin and Subscriber access Issue admin warnings/punishments Keep the community updated of any changes Final say in all admin disputes Plan for growth (website/servers) Support forum/plugins/logos Support Teamspeak 3 channels/admins Grant access rights to Teamspeak 3 Review and implement community suggestions Promote/demote server admins Manage public relations/marketing/events Be a role model to all admins/setting by example Collect donations, manage subscriptions, and pay the bills Manage the website, forums, and bansite Manage AO staffing and responsibilities ... anything else that needs to be done We still have one more promotion! Vice President is a rank that was removed a long time ago by a prior administration. I always liked it, and I feel that this person has more than deserved it. While I was deployed to Afghanistan, this person ran this community almost entirely by himself. He saved this community from dying on more than one occasion, and even introduced us to the idea of subscriber. Your new Vice-President of SteamGamers is XeNo! His duties will remain the same, but he will also act on my behalf in instances where I am not available for certain periods of time. Hello everyone, As I'm sure a lot of you know, there is a lot of work that gets handled on the back-end of SG that the majority of you guys will never see or hear of. As former, current, and future TA's / BD's know, a lot of the work that is done goes either unnoticed or not fully-explained to the general population here at SG. Which we're fine with; it's our job to make sure this place is running as smooth as it possibly can. @Liam Brown deserves some major recognition, however. As most of you guys know, all of the subscribers have to be manually added and removed from sourcebans. The majority of subscribers get automatically added to the forums, however lump-sum donations and skin donations have to be manually added as well. Liam finished a project that we were told was originally probably not possible, and then after being told it's 'doable', it was estimated to take a ridiculous amount of time to accomplish. Enough time to where I offered to pay Liam for it. Not only did he turn the money down, but he got it done in a very expeditious manner. Liam successfully managed to integrate our VBulletin subscriber system with our Sourcebans subscriber system, which saves us (ask the BD's) a ridiculous amount of time in the long run. This means if you are a subscriber on the forums, you will be instantly added as a subscriber on the servers (assuming you set your Steam ID up on your profile correctly). And if your subscription runs out, you will be automatically removed. I appreciate all the work that is done by my staff, but this is honestly a huge step forward for us, and every one of you should be giving a huge thanks to Liam for doing this for us. We have been trying to get this done for over a year now, and we can now finally check it off the list! Thanks Liam!
