    OH HAI

  13. Besides being cheaper is the mobo going to last me longer than the 890? I'm thinking of using this build as a base for the next 5 or so years so I don't want redundant parts later on. I'm not going to skimp on the more important parts if I don't have to but I'll consider changing the mobo. I had the arctic cooler at first but then I read some reviews on the 212 and I sold. Isn't a smaller fan louder? They are also pretty much the same price so it doesn't matter that much to me. Other than that I appreciate all your guys help so far, the new egg forums gave me like 2 helpful posts -_-
  14. Updated OP New heatskin/fan Going wtih the 1gb GTX 460 New Mobo
  15. LOL I read that yesterday and I completely forgot, thanks for explaining.
  16. Do explain, I just wanna know if its worth spending money if I plan to learn how to OC. Question, the card I`m going to get for sure is http://ncix.com/products/?sku=54624&vpn=N460GTX%20Cyclone1GD5%2FOC&manufacture=MSI%2FMicroStar. The requirements say it needs 2-6pin PCIE slots. The mobo I`m now looking at is, http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=52500&vpn=880GMA-E45&manufacture=MSI%2FMicroStar Will the card be compatible if the specs for the mobo are: • 1 PCI Express 2.0 slot with x16 operation (PCI Express Bus SPEC V2.0 compliant) • 2 PCI EXpress 2.0 slots (PCI_E4) with x4 operation (PCI Express Bus SPEC V2.0 compliant) • 1 PCI slot, support 3.3V/ 5V PCI bus Interface.
  17. Haters gunna hate, the max load of the GPU is like 60-70c I know the mobo I have can support the 460 but is nvidia/amd compatible enough to make use of the both the card and the mobo? Also if I don't OC the mobo should I get the cheaper G.Skill ram that runs at 1333 mhz?
  18. After reading about 40 pages of benchmark tests I have to come the conclusion that the HD 5770 doesn't even compare with the lower ended GTX 460 768mb. I'm going back to my EVGA super clocked 460 like before, and I believe it fits my mobo.
  19. I have the same PSU minus 100w its the 650TX - EDIT OH WOW the 750 is $1 cheaper, nvm I was going to buy that same GPU but switched to an AMD HD 5770 Same HD Same RAM lolz
  20. Um not until I learn how/feel comfortable with it haha. Edit: Updated OP
  21. I'm not sure what you mean by that I'm a noob. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727 Only difference I see is the ghz
  22. Alright so I took some advice and changed a few things. Went with the Corsair PSU Got Regionals mobo http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131366 Went with 5770 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125327 (I think is comparable to the one Trak posted) And went with the 955 instead. My original build had the 965, but for 20$ less I lose .2 ghz. I could OC (well learn to OC) and apparently it's pretty easy with the mobo I'm getting. EDIT: $1066.17 with shipping so far.
  23. So if I don't change the mobo just get ram that runs at 1333? I found this card and I'm not sure if it's comparable, but its a couple of series under the AT HD 5870 cards I believe. http://www.lucomputers.com/site/product_parts_detail.asp?class=2&cid=41&id=16378 I see a lot of complaints about the sound of the fan in the 955 but free shipping is enticing -_- The biostar mobo looks like lego to me, I only picked it up cause it saves me about $50 when coupled with the PSU. Thanks for the help so far.
  24. So I absolutely know nothing (well except from what I read online) about computer parts minus the very basics. I've been paying for over priced shit for too long so I've decided to build a new desktop. Motherboard: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=51285 PSU: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 Case: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196 HD: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=34286&promoid=1026 Heatsink/fan: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=41337 Cd/Dvd: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204 GPU: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=54624 RAM: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 Processor: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808 OS: Win7 Other stuff: Mouse/keyboard/headset/cables/screen Mind you this is all on newegg.ca, so pricing is different and I have to pay a bunch of shipping. I'm trying to keep it under 1k and with all this I am at $1066.17 with shipping and not with my $30 rebates wooo.
