I own all of their albums. Lateralus and Aenima being my favorite. I am excited that they are working on a new album for possibly this year.

It all comes down to opinion in the end. In my opinion, not much music outside of rock/metal is catchy enough for me. I will listen to the occasional jazz, blues, and maybe a bit of rap/hip-hop. If you think most metal is just noise or just volume over quality; you're either listening to the wrong band(s) or your ears are not trained enough. As a musician myself; you eventually learn to hear past all of what you claim is "thrashing". All that "thrashing" you hear is just distortion effects they add to their instruments. Remember that not all metal is just grunting or screaming (if you're referring to all metal outside of melodic death metal, that is). Most growls that you hear the vocalists do in death metal isn't exactly as easy as most people claim if you do it properly without hurting your vocal cords. It takes practice to learn how to bring that out from your stomach instead of using your vocal cords and how to breathe properly as you do it so you can keep it powerful and not run out of breath. If you don't like the kind of music from the videos I posted; that is truly pointing out that it is just not your style of music. These guys ARE really talented musicians.

tl:dr I think a screen shot or text log of the chat will be easier for us to read instead of going "I said this and then they replied with this".

Personally their first album, Ember To Inferno, is my favorite by them. That album sounded a bit more melodic death metal influenced and I think this band has great capabilities to make melo-death metal. Their new drummer is sick when it comes to blast beats so hopefully there is a chance to write their music like the first album.

They will be rolling out their new album by this summer.
