If you want a long battery life avoid the HTC M8 like plague. It has by far the shortest life of the phones mentioned. The LG G3 has a longer life. Of course it is huge and I don't think that's what you want. The Motorola droid maxx is outdated in the CPU but has nearly 4x the battery life of the M8 and double the next closest thing. Only trouble with that is its Verizon only (unless you buy used) so if you aren't on Verizon then you are up a creek with that one. The galaxy s5 has a removable battery and a quite respectable battery life to start with. You might also consider the LG G2. Nearly the same specs as the G3 minus the 4k screen and its a bit smaller so that might be nice.

if it is cutting power like that it is either a grounding issue as others have said or, more likely it is shutting its self down due to overheating. Check your CPU heat sink. If it is not clamped down on all 4 sides it will not be making contact with the CPU completely and the CPU will overheat in about 10 seconds or so. I mean seriously check it. It might not look loose but it only takes a little bit. Given your description, I am fairly sure this is your problem.

build PR already has serious lag/rulebreaking issues. I feel like this would take more effort to run than anyone in a position to do so is willing to put into it. I also highly doubt it would operate smoothly, if at all.

The LG G3 came out today and two people in my family picked one up. I think I am in love. Its rather nice. I personally would avoid the M8 because the battery life is terrible compared to other phones. iPhone does about 8-10 hours, M8 does about 12, the S5 G3 and G2 do 18-20 and the Maxx does about 48. Obviously you wont get a G3 for 200 euros but you might find that the G2 is cheaper now.
