255 is not too bad. you can still blow past those unfortunate people in econo boxes. like a prius or something.

i would go with the 9800 GTX+. I love mine so much i got 2. if its still not powerfull enough to float your boat throw a 3rd in. The card has given me no problems and can run whatever the helli want at high settings. i belive they have now rebranded it and called it the gtx 250 so i would also look at one of those.

I connect to my home network via vpn from school. the connection works fine but i am having issues with duplicate ip addresses. I try to access a network drive on a computor on my home network but... there is a computor on the school network with the same ip address. when it does a dns lookup for the name of my home pc it comes up with the correct address but then proceeds to connect me to the pc on the school network with that same ip. is there anyway to specify which network i am trying to reach? i have never dealt with a single pc being on multiple networks before and dont want to have to change my home network settings.

i still dont understand ordering a custom gaming pc whe nyou can biuld one yourself for far less money and have some fun.

so lazy asses its fun and cheaper to build one. and you can have a 360 thats not stuck in a 100lbs of pc.

yeah the cpu does not matter a whole lot in modern games and you could always overclock if you have lag issues.

no. and loosing one round of play because you have a slow hard drive really is not a big deal for most people.

Ok this may not be the place to ask but its worth a shot. I have a 1980 Marantz SR 8000 stereo receiver that worked before it was put into storage (replaced by 5.1 surround unit.) Now after a few years i have tried to use it again. There is no audible sound coming through the speakers. The digital display works, the pre-amp works as its radio works when output through my other receiver, and when at full volume very quit sound can be heard through really sensitive headphones. As far as i can tell the pre-amp is fine but both channels have no sound and the headphone out is virtually silent. Does anybody know what would kill both amp channels at once while the thing was in storage and how it can be fixed. Or if you can point me in the direction of help, that would be nice too. I really hope i can get this thing working as it was a super high end system new and would be a cool receiver to use now.

i got lucky and found a 750watt psu for $75. has given me no problems and works fine even with dual gpu. unfortunately it was the last one comp usa had and they have not been in stock since. i dont think its made anymore.

gaming laptops are all awful because you cant really use them on the go because the batter last two minutes they are heavy and you can cook on them. Then when you get home they are not as good for gaming because the keyboard is fixed to the monitor and its all not very ergonomic. To fix this you can get a ps2 keyboard and monitor but then you may as well have a desktop and at least that would be upgradeable and have a graphics card that works with all the drivers and not just the ones they use for mobile chips.
