  1. Read my post again, you both missed two important pieces. 1. The "blind spot" is the gap in the image where the frames of the monitors are. You can see it most clearly in the second picture where the yellow on the steering wheel is cut off by the edge of one screen but does NOT continue seamlessly on the next screen, instead treating the space between the monitors as part of the image that's just not being displayed. 2. ^^^ that is a pretty big giveaway that they're taking an easy way out rather than actually intelligently recognizing and using each monitor individually like Supreme Commander does. Also they're only using one card for every N monitors, the picture of the first case shows that there's only one card in there for about 6 monitors. Even using quad-crossfire with dualgpu cards they'd still be pretty damn short on horsepower for 24 anti-aliased screens running at 1920x1200.
  2. Are you tired of constantly mishearing people and being misheard because of bad connections, lag, and shitty microphones? Then say goodbye to misunderstanding by doing it the old fashioned way with The Zombie Murder Internet Approved Phonetic Alphabet! Simply spell out whatever is not coming through clearly with The Zombie Murder Internet Approved Phonetic Alphabet and you'll be on your way to a smooth and failcommunication free zombie escaping experience. 3. Please, we all know everyone is REALLY thinking "All the girls, especially the single ones".
  4. Reset his post count >P People still think that about me. And my user pictures.
  5. Actually that's a misconception, liquid cooling is just using water to move the heat to a regular heatsink that's not mounted directly on the hot object. No passive cooling system will ever get you below ambient, and the average TRUE style heatpipe tower is just as good as water cooling for most things nowadays. This is the biggest giveaway that they're just splitting the signal somehow. If they were intelligently rendering stuff on an arbitrary number of monitors you wouldn't have "gaps" in the picture where the frames are, instead it'd be split between each monitor with no "blind spot" where there's no screen to display anything.
  6. Help

Hack: n. Originally, a quick job that produces what is needed, but not well.
  7. I'm willing to bet that in any real world test these graphics cards will not remotely be as impressive as these tech demos would suggest. Notice how they didnt say what resolution that was running at? Running ONE display at 1600x1200 will tax a graphics card in a modern game, running many with that level of detail would literally be making a single graphics card N times as powerful as the current crossfire and SLI setups. Any card since about 2001 has been powerful enough to do that with windows but to do it with a game? That's like claiming you've got a car that can do 200mpg and has 400 horsepower off of regular gasoline. I think it's much more likely they've just found a cheap way to spread the signal across many displays and run them all combined at the resolution rather than anything truly revolutionary. The math just doesn't add up, if they have that much computing power on a single card they should be selling these things as replacements for supercomputers because of how powerful they would be.
  8. Got a virus

The days of viruses that just infect everything they can touch in the filesystem (and usually destroy it) are long gone, viruses nowadays are almost always designed to go hide somewhere and try to hijack your system either stealthily for use as a botnet drone or less so to try and trick you into buying something. What suprises me is that you've caught something spybot can't find.
  9. Help

Dude... the windowed hack? Really? Since when has that been a good idea as opposed to running true fullscreen.
  10. Mouse

    Microsoft boxes:linux boxen::office mice:gaming meece(s)
  11. Help

No, actually, you can't. Doing anything on the other monitor will cause the game to lose focus and minimize just like alt-tabbing would. I've got two monitors and while it's REALLY useful for windows so far with games it's only been useful for Supreme Commander.
  12. Help

It's actually not that impressive from a technological standpoint.
  13. Mouse

That's an mx518 i think, and yeah you got some hand salsa buildup on them because of the smooth plastic texture. All of logitech's new mice have a different texture though, even when it's hot I don't get any real hand salsa buildup.
  14. Mouse

Razr/logitech are both excellent meece with amazing warranties and service, it basically comes downto whether you like big round mice with long narrow buttons or smaller flatter mice with different shaped buttons. Go to a best buy and feel them and see which you like more.
  15. Mouse

If you like logitech's gaming mice then go for the g500. It's got the same classic shape as all their other gaming mice except the g9 but move thumb buttons and it's got their awesome new scroll wheel. And it's not $90 it's only about $60-66. Or there's Razr if you prefer the size and fit of their meeces.
  16. Help

Or if the card actually offers some decent performance benefit.
  17. Help

Did you seriously just claim that there's a processor that costs NEGATIVE $200, runs twice as good as a core i7, and that a noname power supply is not a problem? Do you know something about ANYTHING?
  18. Help

actually even with crysis you wont really need more than ~2gb of ram, 3's a bit of a diff mostly for windows reasons. the only reason I use more than 2gb is because I run two monitors with one at 1600x1200 and keep tons of crap going to manage other stuff while ingame. Honestly a decent psu is not hard to find, newegg's newsletter has had a good solid corsair on sale for less than $90 pretty much every issue for the last ~3 issues (except this most recent one). They're not that expensive and the ~550v one is really all you need for a quadcore gaming computer, especially since corsairs actually CAN deliver every ounce of that 550 volts AND has very little ripple and can give you all your amps without whining too much. Noname PSUs are just... scary. My pentium4 actually fried it's cpu power plug (4pin) because it was a noname PSU, I had to replace that mobo.
  19. System specs

Windows vista was also made by committees that didnt talk to each other. >4gb of ram is pointless because you need a 64bit OS AND the program needs to be coded to use it AND the only reason there's 6gb for core i7 is because it's triple-channel which means one set of 2gb for each core just for symmetry.
  20. Help

Terrible power supply. that should be your first priority even above performance enhancing stuff.
  21. Size

You should get it, having your perscription lets you get glasses from anywhere. That's why I was able to get some decent frames on sale from a different group of people than my eye doctor's in-house group.
  22. Actually like I PMed jaffa people have been banned for being friendly zombies before, I sent him ~4 forum threads about it. Part of the reason there isn't more proof though is because the zombie leaving used to just restart the round instead of picking a new one so kicking a friendly wasn't quite so disruptive since it just reset everything instantly.

  23. Size

So have I but i'm only a -2 diopter perscription.
  24. If newegg isnt cheap enough just get on their newsletter and wait for that, or wait for corsair to inevitably put something on rebate.
  25. Size

I don't use AA at all, too blurry for me and it kills my distance game. As for distance blurring... if the world looks like that to you then you need stronger glasses.
