mic problems...

i have never been able to get a mic to work, i have a Nvidia nforce sound card (at least thats what it says), i have tried all the jacks in the back, i have tried the mic on my brothers PC and it works fine, and i have made sure its not muted or low volume in the audio settings, does anyone know what might be wrong?

if its vista i most certainly do.

 

if you're in vista games or w/e will NEVER see your mic unless you go into sound options and set the mic you're using as the default recording device.

True to what Wrathek said you need to go through set up if your on vista, and if it doesn't work what mic?

1. Im running xp

2. Ive used 3 mics, all of which have been tried on another comp and worked fine.

 

a. Microsoft mic

b. labtec mic.

c. logitech mic

first of all check for new drivers than go to control panel -sounds and audio devices set ur mic as default device u should be good with this

Maybe get a headset with mic attached? Razor Pirhanna! Dont get the Creative Fatal1ty, I have it and hte mic stopped working.

I've had my Fatal1ty for a couple months now, and I love it. You probably didn't get the latest firmware update for it.

 

Anyway, as for Speed, if it says you have an nForce soundcard. You are probably using the onboard motherboard sound. Because thats, what Nvidia nForce is, motherboards. I'd reccemmend getting a real Soundcard. Maybe that will fix your problem.
