I think the human specie is kinda pointless...

Just causes trouble....

Polar bears would like to see us gone :)

polar bears are cool!!

Man was Gods greatest mistake?.... He wants to get rid of us soon :) . 2012? It leaves the question , why did the God create us ? Shouldn't a great and wise lord of everything know we would mess up? Or does he have even a greater master ? What if its a creation in a creation? Maybe god picked us when he saw the power we will have , the power to destroy his creation or save it. The power to .... create new life with machines or a new universe . Just like he did?

What is our purpose?

as of now, there is none.

eventulay everthing will die, and following darwins theory saying will live to make our race live on, there is no point in this since as the universe is expanding everything will either:

1 be spread far appart and humans will slowly die out, unless we get the abbility to create stuff out of nothing at all. 2 after the univers has expanded, it will compress and everything will get hotter, more radioactive and will get eaten by gigantic black holes.

there is though a 3 option: going into a diffrent univers, it is still debated if there is only one or more.

Solipsism.

/thread.

Not literally of course.

According to the solipsist only he exists. The logic flows along quite nicely actually, because his mind is the only thing he knows to be truely real, everything else could simply be a figment of his imagination. Heres where the unsettling part comes in. You know that thing under your bed? In the attic? Your closet? In the basement? You think its ridiculas to consider those things anything more than your imagination but your body really wants you to believe its there.

Now why might that be?

Well see, the way that works is that the only way to live my life is by fuzzy logic, so no matter what I think, my logic is that there is a computer right in front of me and that my parent exist and live with me, and so forth. I don't really see any complete way to live by a certain philosophy 100% without accepting fuzzy logic as the way to live. Most people who actually take solipsism and other philosophies literally are crazy people, i.e. Conspiracy Theorists.

As for the 'God' question, whether or not I believe in one won't really affect my life in any drastic way (at least by the way I live), so why does it matter?

I'm glad that there are people actually having an intelligent discussion here in the Off-Topic section rather than just joking around all the time.

Even if there was a 'creator', how was the creator created!?!?!? Mind boggling if you ask me, there are so many outcomes :S

Also, WHY are we here? What is our purpose?

According to religion to worship the creator.

and then you say "why? is the creator doing this" well, as far for me, i think it's because that the creator wants us to have a choice.

Now ofcourse since this is philosophy, i can say what ever i want and make up as many theorys without any kind of proof.

obvously this debate has been a mindfuck for the last.... well... since mankind ever existed.

Though for my personal beliefs, i think it is to worship the creator.

And then receive the grand price.

Though ofcourse that is only me.

please do not critize me, and if so do not be offensive, DW, i won't get mad but please try not to.

Thank god Misanthrope isn't here.
