equation, if true, doesn't take into account of intellegent life that isn't carbon based.

Drakes equation is also based off only 'human life', if I remember right.

It's designed to only tell you possible planets that COULD perhaps provide living 'human' life. Which involves all things such as animals, people, and so on that we 'humans' call living beings.

There's always the possibility that there is planets that have life that do not live like we do or do not need the same resources. The human genetics contains information we still do not even know yet, so it's possible that another species can exist and we may not be able to understand how they live or thrive, because we do not even fully know how we exist either.

Therefore, even if it's true, it doesn't matter in the end because there's always chance for another species to exist that we cannot even begin to understand.

To think we're alone in such a huge place is naive and arrogant. It's like saying you're the only type of guy of your personality on Earth, you cannot possibly know that and chances are there's probably a guy exactly like you out there and also probably guys with much better personalities as well.

Arrogant to say that our life is the only 'intelligent' life.

There could be more intelligent life out there that we cannot communicate with due to them being far more advanced and intelligent.

call me arrogant, but i say its safe to say that that equation is stupid, and that no other planet houses people as intelligent and self-destructive as the almighty humans
