Here is what I want to buy. Anyone can comment on why I shouldnt or should..or maybe why I should buy something else equivalent. Im an amateur but since Ill most likely end up at sports events and stuff this seems to fit the bill.

i dont know much about cameras but i found all the sutff in that package except the bookbag for around 500 dollars cheaper sorry if i didnt help just did not wannt you to get ripped off

The Canon 40D is good for what you are looking for, but those are horrible prices you are looking at. I haven't shopped much around online, but when I worked at Circuit City we were selling 40D's that came with 18mm-50mm lens for round $600-$699 estimate. Plus that Flash Card you can find in retail on sale usually for around $45.
