I havent played with my bose, I use them for aviation...but as far as game play I doubt they would go much further than the sennheisers...noise cancellation doesnt play a big role here unless you play next to a rock concert.. I live in an apartment by myself hence why I play with the HD555 even tho I own both!

they play a large role for me, there's a tv constantly on all the time within 30 feet of me.

 

Also, I just fine the sound quality and bass in them just perfect.
