Coffee Crisp Posted May 1, 2009 Content Count: 4960 Joined: 06/20/07 Status: Offline Share Posted May 1, 2009 my near future setup Case: antec 1200 RAM: 2x 2gb/and 2 gb out of my dell/4 total Processor: corei7 940 nehalem Video Card: ati radeon 4890 might get an ati radeon 4870 x2 if i can get $400 for it Hard Drive: 80gb 10k rpm for my os/ western didgital 500gb 7200 rpm for games and other stuff/ western digital 1tb external 7200 rpm for movies and music/ western digital 320gb external 7200 rpm for backing up everything from the first boot and install of all my games etc. Cooler: 1/200mm fan on the top 2 180mm in back 3 180mm in front zalman cpu cooler an additional 180mm fan on the side of the case to cool the cpu and gfx card Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Power Supply: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power ... - Retail Keyboard: logitech pro wave keyboard Mouse: logitech mx620 wireless (great mouse best one ive ever used) Monitor: a stock dell i think its 19" Acer X203Wbd Black 20" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Speakers: some logitech speaker from walmart or something. logitech headset Operating system: vista 32-bit 32 Bit and 4GB don't mix. If you want your PC to utilize all that RAM you should get a 64BIT OS. I also don't recommend you have that much hard drives. It's Power consuming, space consuming, and money consuming. Two TB hard drives should be good. Also, I personally don't find an ATI/Intel mix very smart. Though Intel has a very good line up of Proccesors, if you want to take advantage of things like AMD Overdrive you should do an ATI/AMD Mix. At least you'd have all the benefits of it, since they are of course working together. P.S: With that kind of setup. Your PSU is not recommended. You should burn well over 800W under load with it. ReGIONALS Posted May 2, 2009 Content Count: 1844 Joined: 07/27/08 Status: Offline Share Posted May 2, 2009 ok i was hoping i would get some tips from posting it up so i should find an amd cpu and maybe 850w psu i really dont want to change my i7 though is nvida 295 anygood? and im only using the 1tb external if im putting songs an movies on it then i disconnect it and put it in a safe along with my 320 back up. im using 2 internal hdd so that if i have to format i dont lose my games and stuff Link to comment
