Well since last night every time i join a SG server I get HUGE lag which i don't get on any other server apparently.I tried restarting my PC,modem,steam..

Might want to play around with your rates a bit. But its totally possible depending if you are living at home or at school or what not that your local internet was just using alot of bandwidth or even your computer running some process that is sucking the bandwidth.

K i think i fixed it, I typed this in console :

rate 25000

fps_max 101

cl_updaterate 101

cl_cmdrate 101

if you ever get choke like that or some really off in/out then its your rates. my guess is you just had shitty rates and a server like that that is taxing (because of a lot of people close together) is what brings the problem to a head.

Dude what's your connection? I've got a terrible 3mbit connection from embarq and I can max out source's rates at 100-100-300000 and not get that much choke >.>

Sometimes it might be your service provider.

 

Like I cant play certain TF2 servers anymore because cumcast is shit.

Embarq. Their own speed tests give 178-200+ ping times on a 3mbit connection that is supposedly rated up to 10mbits.

i got 10 mb connection , so i dont lag that much.... u should try checking out your router if u got wireless
