Directx10 looks the same as Directx9 EXCEPT for geometry shaders, I could show you every Dx10-Dx9 comparison pic out there you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

i would say wait for windows 7 which comes out somewhere in summer. Vista had issues and people know that, windows 7 will hopefully fix those bugs and make its run better. Xp doesnt know how to properly run some cores and it can be issued. I use vista and am very please. Gonna get windows7 day it comes out.

The overwhelming majority of people run XP or Xp64 for gaming and vista for checking to see if dx10 has done anything different yet.

its not out yet. probably wont be until very late this year or this time next year.

For the love of god, don't buy Win7 until they atleast patch it once or twice, unless you've got a stable backup.

Microsoft makes a good OS, they just need a while to patch it for the billions of different bugs people scream down their throats for.
