I am quite ignorant to it because I see "200 laps left" when I flick on and they are going in circles what am I supposed to think? Even if some aren't just circles then what are they? Ovals? Going at top speed around a track isn't nearly as hard as it is to drive an F1 car around some of the tracks. I know how impossible hard it is to drive an F1 car because I've followed up my interest in the cars, but if you think Nascars are as hard to drive then please explain why.

I believe tank said it the best when talking about the differences between skills levels;

I see the peeps that are saying F1 takes more skill than NASCAR. Just one thing... What about the F1 and Indy drivers that have tried to race in NASCAR, and currently trying to make it in NASCAR, and UBER FAIL. Even on the road courses where they bring some of these guys as "specialist". Now some have come and done good, but the vast majority fail because they can't drive.

Now the reason it really does take greater skill for NASCAR can be easily explained, and has been by even drivers from F1, Indy, and others. The fact is that handling on F1 and simillar cars is computer controlled. Whereas in NASCAR the driver has to be able to feel his car and it is always on the edge of no control. (not so much with COT cars now) Can get alot more detailed, but not enough time right now.

You can compare whatever you like.......you don't have to compare F1 to something which is 90% the same or more for the comparison to be valid....

Obviously one is better then the other there isn't going to be two quite different races that just happen to be as difficult as each other. All cars do most of the driving a skilled player will add to the performance but one of the teams uses Ferrari's older cars so they don't really stand a chance.

What does this have to do with the skills of the driver? What the driver has to look for and feel with his car is completely different in almost every circuit, so I dont see how you can compare them when they can be completely different.

Fanboyism? Well everyone is going to have their opinion, as a fan of F1 and someone who doesn't like Nascar why wouldn't I go with F1? That is the whole point of the thread.....peoples opinions not just your opinion. Also what is fanboy about it? I am critical of F1 I don't like it just because I am loyal to F1 or any other 3rd party reasons I like it because it's the most enjoyable major racing on TV.

Who said this was just my opinion, I was just stating how sick I was of seeing the whole "Look at em go around in circles" comments like thats the only thing people have on NASCAR. I watch all racing that is shown in America, so I cant really call myself bias but nor do I bash other circuits just because I think one is better then the other which is never the case since all have different taste and items to like. The reason I am defending NASCAR is people dont give what people do in the circuit credit when it comes to comparing it with other circuits and just blow it off because of the tracks they race when it can be just as rough as racing a long road track.

^ My opening post. When it comes to entertainment well, I know that I don't enjoy 200 laps of a short, uneventful circle F1 in itself can get boring but it's been more exciting recently takes me back to the Hakkinen vs Schumacher times.

So this was meant to be a flame NASCAR thread afterall? Nice going ;) lol

How many great F1 drivers have gone over to NASCAR? Please I can't think of many infact no TOP F1 drivers have gone to NASCAR..I can only think of Montoya but he left because he couldn't hack it.

F1 cars have computers but you still need to make very precise decisions. It's a lot easier to talk about F1 Cars having computers when you just said not so much now......and NASCAR is completely different the only reason you don't have computers is because you don't need them to go around the NASCAR tracks and for those specific cars.

F1 cars can easilly stall even with computers and skid, crash, fail.....you're never safe in your F1 car.

Ok it's not a comparison......it's a judgement. It's like saying "What is better Marmite or Peanut butter" they are completely different spreads but can be judged. You are just ignoring the point of the thread.....to discuss which you prefer and why you prefer it. I am saying that you can make a judgement on which is better.....and that will be your opinion. Others can then judge it.......it's quite easy to comprehend. Both are races...both have drivers...both have cars...both try to win.....there are things to compare even things which are different.

You just said it isn't your opinion, and yet you have just said what your opinion is, hence why you account only for yourself with "I"....

If you don't want to talk about which is better why come in the thread? How else can I say why I think F1 is better than Nascar then by "bashing it". To be honest you can't.....because to state why F1 is better I am giving pluses for F1 and negatives for Nascar which works for my argument.

If you just want to hold hands and have forum-wide peace where everyone agrees with everyone then you are insane....the point of forums is to discuss....debate....we are "debating which is better..F1 or Nascar".....why is it so hard to do this without people getting butthurt?

To summarize.....I wouldn't say Nascar is crap if I knew 0% about it. I watched about 30 minutes of Nascar and all I saw was cars driving in a circle. In the same way that I watched 15 minutes of American football and was bored shitless I have watched the sports and have no interest in them.....hence my opinion isn't 100% ignorant even if I don't understand the sport ENTIRELY I think I understand what entertains me and what doesn't.

I just said that I do, if I knew nothing I'd say "what is Nascar?" .....so with that I'm tired of repeating myself to someone with a thick skull.

lol I highly doubt you do know anything based off ure knowledge of the motorsport, like the comments such as "All I see is 200 laps left and them going around in circles" isnt knowing NASCAR thats just making a opinion off what you probably watch for 3 minutes. So I'd rather have a thick skull, then dumbass opinions about something I never watch enough to make a solid opinion. Considering I do watch F1 from time to time when its shown in America. :\

I didn't ask anyone to have watched each sport 100 times, I never asked anyone to write a page essay detailing everything I asked for peoples opinions and that is all. If people want to give more than good but it isn't a requirement so thanks for your concern but I think I'll stick to this because it avoids all the fags who are persistant to start an argument when it isn't needed.

I watched the Nascar for about 30 minutes and as I said.......barely anything happened other than cars going in circles there's nothing dumbass about it. Whenever I flick onto a channel showing Nascar that is what I see. Also there is something between "knowing everything" and "knowing nothing" and I feel that I know enough about Nascar to say that F1 is a better sport, but then that is just my opinion.

Thats fine, its ure opinion which ure entitled to have. I didnt start a argument as much as I was trying to end the "Which one sucks the most" part of this thread. So thats fine, we all have our own taste.

I used to be the jackman for a Nascar team (#26 K-mart). I don't think one type of racing is better then the other, its all about whatever you prefer to watch.

F1 is like doping up a Kenyan marathon runner on methamphetamine. Everyone wants to know how fast those fuckers can go before they explode. F1 is about making a car go as fast as it can go, using the best technology available.

Nascar is more fundamental. All the changes are mechanical, springs, torque bars and such. We still use small-block V-8's and 4-barrel carbs.

I like the proximity that stock cars are able to race within each other. I remeber one short track race that we won. By the end of the race, our car looked like it was in a crash derby race. If open-wheel cars even touch, a disaster can, and usually does, occur.

I'll try to see if I can find some old pictures.
