Which android phone?

I'm unsure whether I should get the G1 (Dream) or the G2 (Magic).

Any Suggestions?

I bought the G1 last week, and it's great. Previously I had the htc touch, hacked to run android os. I can tell you, not having a physical keyboard sucks. From what I understand, the G2 lacks a keyboard. Some of the legacy apps in the app store also won't work on the new G2 for the moment.

 

one example of that, I play doom on my G1 all the time. Trying that without the keyboard would be impossible.

The G1 does have an accelerometer. And yes, the G2 does not have a keyboard which will turn many people away. I'm glad the Palm Pre has a keyboard because it's such an amazing OS (decent phone) and it would have been ruined without a physical keyboard. The G1 has a lot of weird quirks that take some getting used to and I read that many of those are fixed with the G2. Read some reviews and articles and check out the phones in a T-Mobile store to see which you like better.

My GF has the G1.

 

I personally like the G2 better because of the no-keyboard and the colour. The G1's keyboard and sliding mechanism isn't that great either.

Right now, I'd say G1. the on screen keyboard isn't nearly good enough. A LOT of mistypes vs using an iPhone. Perhaps once Donut is released it will be improved, but for now, G1 is the way to go. Sad;y T-Mo's 3g network is mostly fail, can't wait to offload mine and grab a Pre. :-)
