PotshotPolka Posted July 27, 2009 Content Count: 6084 Joined: 03/31/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 27, 2009 Well I've gotten tired of listening to my 295 roaring whenever it gets above 55C (don't say turn down the fans, it gets hot and it needs to run up in speed to keep the temp down, I've tested it) so I've looked around and found a few compatible 3rd party fan/water cooler units to stick on the card. I want to try and lower the load temps at least 10C, but also I want it to be quieter. Here's a couple I found, they are expensive as hell, and there's nothing on newegg, that's compatible as of yet. My GTX 295 Model: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/aqcoaqforgtx1.html http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=857 http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1562 Haven't found it on a site to buy from yet. I currently do NOT have any water systems installed inside of the PC, would I need one or are these stand alones? Link to comment

Renzeko Posted July 28, 2009 Content Count: 26 Joined: 05/25/09 Status: Offline Share Posted July 28, 2009 Bigwater 760i is a nice compact water cooling unit, everything comes with it, and it's easy set up, takes up to DVD Drive bays though, if you dont have them to spare, then you out of luck. But if you do, I highly recommend this: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Thermaltake/Bigwater760i Link to comment

Wrathek Posted July 28, 2009 Content Count: 1839 Joined: 09/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 28, 2009 i wouldnt fuck with water cooling, knowing the case you have and the more than ample cooling you have. Id say wait till newegg has something. I bet they know themselves that there's nothing affordable out yet or they'd be selling it. I say turn the case fans up (i cant remember if your fans are controllable or not) so that you either 1. don't hear the gfx card over them 2. the card doesn't get over 55C What I find strange is that the card's fans go so fast at 55C like 55C is alot to a graphics card. PotshotPolka Posted July 28, 2009 Content Count: 6084 Joined: 03/31/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 28, 2009 the card idles around 50C Ambient case temp is 35ish. It's the Antec 900. Fans are at max speed, and its pretty loud, but at 100% the GPU fan simply TEARS through them. It sounds like a damn blow-dryer. Link to comment

BOOWY Posted July 28, 2009 Content Count: 868 Joined: 04/30/08 Status: Offline Share Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) This guy: http://www.rodsrig.com/ ...has two GTX 295s in his rig and he's using a custom Danger Den watercooling setup. (http://www.dangerden.com/store/custom-kits/) If you're going the watercooling route make sure that you get a non-conductive cooling agent... though I think that goes without saying. Large pictures of the Danger Den stuff and a listing of the parts in the custom setup can be found here(the check prices chart in the first post is not for this watercooling setup): http://www.3dgameman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55609 EDIT: By the way, if you want to control your fans and play around/experiment with stuff like that you might want to try SpeedFan(http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php). I can't get it to run my case fan constantly but you might be able to, and you might have better results on your card doing that if you can get it to run your case fan constantly. And probably, liquid nitrogen to cool it! Link to comment
