I saw a show on Future Weapons on a thing called "dragonskin," a new body armor that stops shrapnel, bullets, etc while being relatively lightweight. Here's the vid: KS0pSwdQfbY Also seen a vid on artificial limbs which let you lift heavy objects with ease and ultimately transform you into a cyborg... very interesting stuff indeed. Sadly, I can't find the vid on that. Link to comment

Why did he only shoot off one round at a time and not just load off the whole clip. That's the ultimate test. To see if it can take a bombardment of bullets and not just one at a time. It still seems like cool technology and hopefully implemented into the military or army soon. Link to comment

Because it's not fucking Counter strike source, idiot. Full automatic fire with a rifle, you would miss most of the shots, you could not control the weapon, that's why they had it in single shot, to give it a fair test. Anyway, back to topic, that video on dragonskin or whatever is INCREDIBLE! Edited January 5, 2008 by James Link to comment

Why did he only shoot off one round at a time and not just load off the whole clip. Because, if you shoot a semi-automatic rifle on full auto, or burst it's incredibly hard to aim. A rifle IRL is tons times harder to aim than how you see it in-game. Most troops are even trained and taught to have their rifles on single-fire. This is one of the reasons why we "lost" in the vietnam war, everyone had their M16s on full-auto, so they waste all their ammo on blind and inaccurate shots and also it increases jamming on their weapons. After that the M16A2 was made and the full-auto function was removed, replacing it with burst-fire. Link to comment
