i never said i ran a server im just saying more than 4gigs makes a hell of a difference when running vista

edit: lol misread the post, but i doubt it, i had someone who had 8gb and i took out 2gb and he was running win7 and he said he didn't notice shit.

i havent used win7 yet but want to get it...but ive heard Microsoft has pulled their hands out of each others asses and did a good job of optimizing it

Windows 7 is basically what Vista was supposed to be. They had to rush Vista out and did a half-butted job on it, that's why it sucks so bad. 7 is in all ways better than Vista, and XP.

Windows vista was also made by committees that didnt talk to each other.

 

>4gb of ram is pointless because you need a 64bit OS AND the program needs to be coded to use it AND the only reason there's 6gb for core i7 is because it's triple-channel which means one set of 2gb for each core just for symmetry.

yeah but not too many programs are coded in 16-bit anymore >.>

most programs that are coded in 32 still work on 64 but generally they need a 64bit version to fix small bugs.
