And I don't know about the RAM yet, but I was 4G, so thats about $70 All together, it runs to be about $600, free shipping.(NewEgg) Would this computer be able to run games like L4D,L4D2, TF2. Ya know, all those games? Is there anything I'm missing? I just found those quickly, if there are better things, for not too much more. Could you point it out? For instance, is that a decent processor? I'd be willing to pay about $50 more for a better processor. Edited September 24, 2009 by N3wbie Link to comment

And I don't know about the RAM yet, but I was 4G, so thats about $70 no, the processor you selected has a different socket to the motherboard, the processor has a 775, while the motherboard is 1156, for the new i5 and i7 processors, you could either get a motherboard, i would suggest this which would save you alot of money. or you can get one of the new i5 processors like this one as for the ram, it depends on the motherboard, if you decide to go for the core2 DDR2 would fit your motherboard. but the new 1156 uses DDR3, the thing is with the new 1156 socket it uses paired DDR3 and you cant use Tripple channel DDR3. the DDR3 is slightly more expensive than the DDR2 Edited September 24, 2009 by tinkerbell Link to comment

Shadowex3 Posted September 25, 2009 Content Count: 2959 Joined: 02/27/08 Status: Offline Share Posted September 25, 2009 Do NOT get a cheapass biostar/whoever motherboard. That's like using a noname powersupply, the Mobo and PSU are the only two components capable of killing other things and since you're already getting a rosewill PSU (which I've seen let all the magic smoke out of another guy's computer already) you should at least get a decent Asus or Gigabyte motherboard. P45 or P55 are probably your best bet. If $600-ish is your budget you're going to be getting a pretty ghetto gaming comp, but either way you'll want to get an E8000 series processor rather than the E7000 ones even if it means a less powerful videocard, Valve games are MUCH more dependant on a good processor than a super high end videocard. In general: Asus and Gigabyte for motherboards Corsair, Seasonic and PC Power & Cooling for power supplies (they're worth the extra $20, REALLY!) XFX, EVGA, and BFG-Tech for Nvidia videocards Sapphire, ATI/AMD, and the Nvidia guys for ATI videocards Western Digital and Seagate for Hard Drives Gskill, Geil, Corsair, OCZ, and Mushkin for ram (Corsair and OCZ are likely the cheapest too) Link to comment
