Alright, basically I'm going to somewhat reconfigure my current PC to hopefully play COD:W@W in a decent framerate (Preferably 20's+)

My current specs -

Processor: AMDAthlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60GHz

Memory(RAM): 2.00GB

System Type: 32-bit Operating System

Memory: 144GB (48.9GB free >.>)

Graphic Cards (I think): Radeon 1650 Series

_______________________________________________________________

I've been looking into purchasing either (Or suggest a better one):

ATI Radeon HD 4890

Maximum power 190 Watts

Stream processing units 800

Memory Type GDDR5

Memory Bandwidth (max) 124.8GB/sec

Slot Dual

Memory 1GB

Engine Clock 850MHz

Compute Power 1.36 teraFLOPS

Memory Data Rate 3.9Gbps

Power Connectors 2 x 6-pin

Anti-Aliasing 24x CFAA (max)

Or; ATI Radeon 9800

(Don't know specs...)

___________________________________________________

I'm probably going to dish out some cash for 2GB more RAM; along with some memory... I need some suggestions here as well; as which is more important.

I've heard I'd need a new CPU or some shit; any suggestions for a good reliable one for the new graphics cards, RAM being added?

Other suggestions (For things I'd need/(to upgrade) are incredibly appreciated.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep it as low as possible. Will the 5870 run the game adequately? What's the difference?

I still have to buy RAM and other things. (Still need clarifications on what I'll need to run and shit) So, yeah. I'll probably stick with the 5870, as it's $100 - $200 saved to buy other parts with.

Edit:

Just checked some things out, I think I'm going to get:

Radeon 4850 512mb

Antec Earthwatts EA500D 500w PSU

1GB x2 (RAM)

Is there anything else I need or should get? Everything is quite cheap, it'll be around $400.

The 5870 basically matches with the GTX 285/295 (Nvidia's top single gpus). It's huge of course like the 4890 (11.5 inches) which is nearly two times the size of a HD Radeon 4650. $100 can get you decent ram sticks. If you want to physically travel to a store to get the parts then go with www.canadacomputers.com which I buy my computer parts from. If not and you want shipping then http://www.newegg.ca is good.

I'm probably going to purchase them from Future shop if I can't find a better deal anywhere else.

Some dude had a lower GHz than me on youtube; so I thought it's all gurd.

the 5870 is massive it will support anything its got directx 11 which some games have already signed onto using. it uses much less power than the 4870 its like 150? load and 27 idle

andre the 5870 benchmarks have blown away the gtx285/295

Then post those benchmarks or stfu, seriously don't make claims and then fail to provide proof.

Anyway soulkeeper: Good stuff so far, the reason we all laughed is because the Radeon 9800 is from when Half-life2 was first released so it's a really old card. It's like saying you're going to get a Corvette or a 1986 Honda Civic.

Only thing I'd suggest is getting a real PSU instead of an antec since Seasonic is not making antec's power supplies anymore. The earthwatts line USED to be made by them but antec switched OEMs.
