c0bra067 Posted September 30, 2009 Content Count: 522 Joined: 05/23/09 Status: Offline Share Posted September 30, 2009 well recently i got back from vacation and apparently there were some thunderstorms or something and we had lost power... anyways, as soon as i got back, my computer began sporadically freezing. num lock, scroll lock, keyboard and mouse dont respond. the screen literally freezes where it was and the computer doesn't respond. i unplugged the computer and restarted to make sure it wasn't a power issue, but it froze up again shortly after. it hadn't frozen in a day or so, but i asked my dad, who seems to think it might be a ram problem. as soon as i went back downstairs it was frozen. just my fucking luck. so now i took out one stick of ram to do it the old-fashioned way and see if it freezes up any more on each stick. i know my videocard was making so funky fan sounds a while ago, so not sure if that has anything to do with it, but i figured i would add that anyways. anyone have any ideas? im thinking video card or ram, but i really dont want to be waiting around for days for either of my sticks to freeze up when i can just run down and get 2 new ones today.
