Or get a really long cable and run it to the router, staple it along the baseboards so it's not unsightly. Link to comment

That is something that i cannot do until i move out. Link to comment

Shadowex3 Posted October 6, 2009 Content Count: 2959 Joined: 02/27/08 Status: Offline Share Posted October 6, 2009 Choke = Server wants to send you data but can not send you data. Might be because your rates are set too low, might be because the server's incapable of holding the rates/ticrate it's set to, might be because you have a bottleneck somewhere. Wireless doesn't = choke unless you're using a really slow one like B or G. Wireless N should have the bandwidth for gaming so the packets WILL be sent. The problem is that wireless gives you something much worse, wireless = LOSS. You get a little interference here, some weak signal there, and you start recieving incomplete packets or missing them entirely and then REALLY BAD SHIT happens with Source. If you're getting choke but no loss try playing on any TRUE 100tic server, one that "net_graph 3" will show "100/s" on the right right of the "IN:" and "OUT:" lines (second and third line of the net_graph). If you can play on a 100tic server with your rates maxed out and no choke/loss that means it's serverside. Otherwise it's on your side and you need a wire. p.s. Wireless sucks for gaming. I run perfectly fine on any other server i join. Idk why. And on another note, I haven't had any problems with my wireless for the last 3 years Link to comment

Other nearby routers may be running on the same channel as yours and causing interference. Keep fiddling around with the channels and see if there is an improvement. Link to comment

Ooh, i just read your post, how would you change your router channel? Because i think everyone in my village is set to channel 6 as default, so how would you go around changing it, because i think it would have a BIG difference where i live!! Link to comment
