I've had 2 seagates and they both failed within a year. My WD of equal price runs faster and quieter. Link to comment

I've been reading reviews after review about hard drive, since I am planning to get a 1TB drive, and based on what I know, Samsung and WD are top. Just because a certain component is available in a rebuilt doesn't make it "shit". My computer came with an E8400, does that make Intel "shit"? My friends computer came with a HD 4870, does that make ATI "shit"? Edited October 8, 2009 by Akaru Link to comment

Doesn't surprise me. I just don't like to be wrong. I also hate when false information is given to people who don't know very much about the topic. If I ask for help, I'd expect a truthful answer. You're calling WD shitty? I've had 2 seagates and they both failed within a year. My WD of equal price runs faster and quieter. i wasnt calling WD shitty, i have 2 WD 1 Seagate and a samsung. the 2 WD drives have lasted me 7 years and there still upto the task. its like with any computer components, you get what you pay for. i was trying to get across, dont just go for the Price Per GB. Just because a certain component is available in a rebuilt doesn't make it "shit". My computer came with an E8400, does that make Intel "shit"? My friends computer came with a HD 4870, does that make ATI "shit"? no, im sorry Akaru, it was a bit harsh for me to say that, but pre-builts often save money on some key components that money shouldnt really be save, for instance they might put a no-brand PSU in, Cheap Motherboard. areas where money should be spent, but then they have all the Key components to say "Im A Good Computer" i was not at all saying that every single component in a prebuilt is shit. you just twisted my words. Well everyone's already said Seagate/WD so I'll just throw out one last trivia tidbit: Maxtor hdd's make music when they die. ive also had a bad experience with a maxtor HDD. one to avoid imo Edited October 8, 2009 by tinkerbell Link to comment
Shmoked Posted October 8, 2009 Content Count: 230 Joined: 10/01/09 Status: Offline Share Posted October 8, 2009 Just bought a Western Digital external Hard Drive - 2 terrabyte, thing runs so fast w. Fire Wire, looks really sweet when it's sending/receiving information!! It's also the world edition, bring it anywhere I'd like, have bluetooth enabled sharing, wireless internet, Ethernet hook ups, USB I could keep on going!! My prof's have been recommending this brand for years @ my schools! 10/10!! Link to comment
