no way in hell will a laptop last you 4 years for gaming... dont waste your money, wait for the DX11 cards (HD5870 or the x2 of it, or wait for the G300 cards) and build a desktop... definitely be cheaper and you'd have by far more power in you're machine, that will last for awhile.

Id prefer a gaming laptop because alot of my friends game together like css and stuff and id prefer to just have a laptop to take that will provide good gaming on the go rather then lugging my desktop around every week. And if i bought a good laptop im hoping it would last me through highschool and university. I already have a decent desktop which the entire family is using aswell :p

i see your point in that, but laptops will never last you more than ~3 years. There's just something about them that depreciates in quality so fast. I'm not saying it wont run 3 years from now, but you wont be able to play the best looking games anymore, and the battery will last ~5 minutes around then.

If its just to game with your friends, why does it have to be top notch? upgrade the desk @ home, and buy a MUCH cheaper midline laptop to play "css or whatever hurr" with your friends at 1280x1024 or something.

A laptop will either have a decent battery life and no overheating problems or problems with both and be remotely capable of gaming. Think really hard about whether this is an impulse buy you dont really need or you'll actually have a use for this laptop.
