i'd imagine its better drivers, no way a 8800gtx is better (at least, not by that much) than a 9800gtx.

 

but yeah it could be a different system on 7.. i noticed it auto rechecks when the computers idle every few days i think.

 

and yes, you do need to check pot. even if it means getting windows 7 *cough*my thread*cough*

Windows 7 goes up to 7.9. Vista up to 5.9.

Windows 7 seems to boost scores compared to Vista. So if you get a 5.4 in Vista, you would get like a 6.2. This is a rough estimate and might not be true. The point I am trying to get across is that any component will score a higher score on 7 than Vista.
