What headset/mic do you recommend or use

I am planning to get a mic/headset. I used to have a headset, but it died on me within a year. So I'm leaning more towards just a mic. What does SG think? My budget is less than 30 dollars for a mic or a headset.

what is your major malfunction numb nuts? I have a set of hd555s. I also happen to have that headset because I got it for free. I'm not about to use my headphones and a desk mic. so i just use the headset when (rarely) i want to talk.

 

like, seriously dude. me saying "suited for gaming" doesnt mean i think that "made for gaming" products are superior. i know they're gimmicky, thank you. you're not the only person on the planet that has ears that work you know. i know what sounds good and what doesnt, thus why i have some hd555s.

 

also, i more than understood he was joking about leaning towards bose. i was just reaffirming your points, but maybe i should take it back since its apparent you give WAY too much of a shit about sound just like you do CRT monitors.

ok so i've narrowed it down to a few choices. i have raised my spending cost. here are a list of what im thinking of getting.

 

Sennheiser 555 - $99 at amazon

 

Audio Technica ATH-AD700 - 90 at amazon

Audio Technica ATH-PRO700- 110 at amazon

Don't know which is better.

Is usb much better than non usb? any advice you guys can offer would be great. i'm slow at making my choice. i like to try to make sure i get something thats worth it.
