upgrade means you have to have vista installed/install it before windows 7 every time you reformat.

Well my laptop is vista, and my desktop is XP.

So im better off getting the one to replace xp then?

because i use my desktop more than my laptop

you're better off with the full regardless. it can do upgrades OR straight format. i never understood how they get off acting like being able to format from the disc is worth an extra $100+.

PM if you'd be interested in said full version, you'd have enough money left to buy several games or a new graphics card etc.

Of course. Piracy = $0. There are many ways to get it for cheaper. But if you want a legit copy and not get jailed for piracy, you would have to pay ~$130. And that link above is for System Builders, that means you get 1 time install. If you get a virus (or another reason) and need to reinstall the OS, you would need to buy a new key.

not true http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116677 this i what i got when i got a new hard drive for my old computer and ive formatted on that one twice and ive formatted on this one twice and have had no problems what so ever.
