Help Burning discs Problem

for some odd reason i keep gettin this error when i try to burn dvds

I'm using sonic record now 7.3

burning stuff with DVD-R cds (drive is DVD-RW)

its a blank disc dude.. they get "formatted" when you "burn" them.

depends, i had to format a disk for when i needed to burn windows 7 on it. Even though it had never be used.

When you burn stuff onto the disc, you don't format them. The burning process formats them for you, as Wrathek stated. If you format them using Windows' built-in formatter, all you are doing it making your disc a storage disc, like a flash drive, without the rewritable feature. Once a disc is formatted with Windows' built-in formatter, it can't be used to burn a disc (I think).
