mNote Posted November 10, 2009 Content Count: 1554 Joined: 03/01/07 Status: Offline Share Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) I haven't been gaming for awhile now so I was wondering if anything new and exciting (in the computer industry) has happened while I was gone. I'm afraid to go buy a new desktop because of the possibility of getting ripped off and I'm afraid to go build one because I don't know what is new and good at this time. If anyone has any recommendations for a good desktop, give me some thoughts and insights please so I can finally start gaming again. I was looking at this: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Mega_Special_I/ Posted by Ngo in a different thread, I think this is really good PC for the amount I planned to spend. Well to expand on Potshot so bluntly stated... just build it yourself. You will save a bunch of money and get exactly what u want/need. I built my first computer about 5 months ago and i didn't know shit about building computers but im glad i did. I learned alot. (ask around for help on selecting components for your build. People on this forum are more than willing to help when you ask someone to help you pick out parts) Link to comment
Itch Posted November 10, 2009 Content Count: 3440 Joined: 12/12/07 Status: Offline Share Posted November 10, 2009 As MNote stated he is reluctant to build because he is not sure what to buy. If you want to recommend him building one himself at least help him out with a parts list from NewEgg or another similar seller. I'm not able to do so at the moment but will later if no one else does. Link to comment

mNote Posted November 10, 2009 Content Count: 1554 Joined: 03/01/07 Status: Offline Share Posted November 10, 2009 Yes, I would prefer to build my own desktop. If you guys pick out the parts, I'd appreciate it. My budget is maxed at $600 because I remember a year ago Haggard built his desktop with help from Jager for around $500 bucks and it played TF2 really good. I can only assume that parts for a desktop has gotten cheaper and $500 bucks can get me something a lot better. Link to comment

It'd unlock quad-cores and pretty cases that glow fo-shizzle. 1 Link to comment
