Both are free, get rid of McAfee. It is a horrible antivirus, Unless he wants to lag more for less protection I would keep my answer the same. Link to comment

Most people like it a lot more than any other anti-virus. Also you could try out Panda Cloud, it uses the cloud technology to update it's virus dictionaries. PS. Thanks for the laugh dazey, that was hilarious. The reason why that's funny is that you suggest he use an anti virus on a completely separated, sandboxed OS, running within his OS. in otherwords, you want him to attempt to scan the part of his hard drive/OS that WinXP mode would never see, ever.
