Hello, one and all!

I'm looking to upgrade a couple of parts on my desktop in the next couple of months, and I thought I'd check and see what everything thinks about the parts I'm looking at.

The two main upgrades I'm making are a new video card, and to support that, a new PSU. Here are the two I'm looking at right now.

Here's the graphics card:

And here's the power supply:

I like the looks of the HD 4870, and I'd rather have a decent psu with only one 12v rail, as I don't want to do much more than set it in and go.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Nonsense

Get a different version of the GPU, that style heatsink apparently fails to dissipate the heat well.

I'll answer if you stop signing your name.

And yes, it would be a fine pick, or you could get the one you picked out initially and replace it with a third party heatsink.
