Im pretty sure none of the killstreaks add towards it, because ive gotten an sentry and got enough kills to get a AC130 but it didnt let me. (yes i had it selected as a kill streak reward.)

True you wont get kill streak off random box tingy you have to earn it yourself then you will get kill streaks then i mean! earn helicopter from kills not from boxes

if i am not mistaken this actually does count towards your killstreak though, and i believe only kills from your targeting on killstreak rewards count (ie. harriers bombs count nut not the ensuing machine gunning, sentry gun doesnt count either i dont think)
