Im using a Nvidia GeForce 8500GT with 2286mb (approx) intergrated DDR2 memory,

Im running CSS with everything on full.

My CPU is:

Thanks.

That's what happened to me too. On the first week my fps was like 100 and now it's from 13-40 (Sometimes 50)

I know there is something wrong when im on Zombie Escape, with a big open world and im topping 100 FPS but then i go into JB razor and get 40 FPS...

with the big open world on escape your GPU has less to generate all your seeing is a sky box

when you went onto prisonbreak its generating the cells, ceiling, weapons in the armory, etc.

its like on garrysmod if you spawn up a ton of props in the air and let them fall they are gonna hit each other and cause lag coming down, its physics.

Not sure how you got 250+fps, im running an 8500GT also and ive never gotten that high.

Source engine is really CPU dependent. His CPU really boosts up his frame rates, even though you two have the same GPU.

Sorry but you have it semi-backwards regionals. Assuming the mapper is competent what happens is the engine renders only what is visible or in the immediate vicinity. Including players. On a massive wide open escape map you're taking in easily twice to ten times as much crap on a full 40 man server.

The variance comes from the map's construction, how well the mapper optimized tihngs, and what all is going on. I've got a core 216 and q9450 and I only get ~40fps at times on escape1.

I thought it was this way, but both arguments seem correct to me, in a sense. WHICH ONE IS CORRECT?!?!
