zoidberg Posted December 3, 2009 Content Count: 204 Joined: 07/02/09 Status: Offline Share Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) Well if you listen to a death metal song and compare it to a melodic death metal song there is a difference. But, if you don't listen to either then chances are you have no idea that melodic death metal exists, so hearing the difference between death metal and melodic death metal, would be like ME hearing the difference between rap and hip-hop *Oh and I meant to quote luxzorz on this =P Edited December 3, 2009 by zoidberg Link to comment

zoidberg Posted December 7, 2009 Content Count: 204 Joined: 07/02/09 Status: Offline Share Posted December 7, 2009 I'm not really into BDM, my favorite would have to be Scar Symmetry, but your taste in music is your own, and before anyone mentions rap...shhhh, that crap take zero talent, it's moronic to put it bluntly. Sorry I just felt like I should throw that in there. Link to comment

Although I don't like their new stuff as much as anything from the Jester Race till Colony era How about throwing some other bands out there? Here's a few: Soilwork, Disarmonia Mundi (partially with the singer from Soilwork), The Duskfall, Mors Principium Est.....*gasp*. And i got a load of others if you'd like BTW zoidberg, what songs would you recommend from Scar Symmetry? I've heard a lot about them so far, gotta check them out sometime. Link to comment

Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, Abigail Williams, etc. I love it all. Scar Symmetry is pretty sick as well. Link to comment

ColdWar Posted January 27, 2010 Content Count: 283 Joined: 01/27/10 Status: Offline Share Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) Scar Symmetry and Disarmonia Mundi are excellent bands!! oh yeah, soilwork and in flames too! on the more technical side of death metal, you have Arsis. still melodic i guess. i just scrolled through all of my CDs and i really dont have a lot of melodic death. im more of a thrash thrash/death, or just death metal kinda guy. it seems like melodic death bands are hit or miss as far as im concerned. edit: oh how could i leave out Insomnium.
