Coffee Crisp Posted December 6, 2009 Content Count: 4960 Joined: 06/20/07 Status: Offline Share Posted December 6, 2009 The 5770 is basically a remade 4870 I think. I believe the 4890 performs a tad faster than the 5770. So if you don't care about Eyefinity and DX11 then a 4890 is fine. Wrathek Posted December 6, 2009 Content Count: 1839 Joined: 09/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted December 6, 2009 ... those are the pci-e power we're talking about. im saying they sell cables that take a molex (the 4 pin connectors from a PSU) and convert it to those 6-pin/8pin pci-e connectors. Wrathek Posted December 7, 2009 Content Count: 1839 Joined: 09/28/08 Status: Offline Share Posted December 7, 2009 no.. you need 1 molex, which, as akaru's pic shows, can be at LEAST 2 pci-es chained together. Hmm, actually I just went to a good tech site and lo and behold: The 5750-5770 are only dollars apart with a decent boost in performance. The 5870 however costs $300ish and is on par with the gtx260 and even better a Radeon HD 4890, both of which cost only around $200. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5770,2446.html What's the big deal? ZOMG EYEFINITY GIVES ME 20 SCREENS TO MASTURBATE TO. If you REALLY want a 5000 class DX11 card, wait till Nvidia brings out theirs in a few months and then prices will drop. Ignore Regionals, his daddy is probably one of the wage slaves on the ATI's dev team. Link to comment https://forums.steam-gamers.net/topic/24905-time-to-update-d/page/2/#findComment-298998
