Well. One clean memory I have is getting the game "Donkey Kong Country" for the Gameboy Color. Being a kid when I got it, it was pure awesome. (I still have the game too, in good condition. :d) I remember staying up late playing that game. Too fun, those classics are.

Well I was in gamestop maybe the day before christmas, couple of years ago. I stepped out and I was like "look!" to my friend, and we found 165bux on the floor. Does that count as a story?

Okaaaaaay, it started like this...

Woke up in the morning to find out that it was snowing, the first time in my life we had snow on christmas eve (i live in sweden so i doesnt often snow in december).

Opened the door and my eyes and saw that it was snowing, i loved snow and it was the first snow of the year, i ran indoors again and yelled at my dad that we should go out and play in the snow. (I was about 6-7 years old)

He got dressed and we both went out in the snow, we had a snowball war and made a big big snowman,

i was so happy cause who doesnt love to play in the snow when ur a little kid.

After the "snowplay" we went inside to get some hot chocolate and some sandwiches.

Then i started the TV and watched donald duck.(They send it every christmas eve in Sweden)

And i got to open my first present, it was a soft one, i HATED soft presents cause it was most likely not a toy.

I opened it and found a santa-mask, i liked it alot and immediatly put it on, i kept it on almost the whole day.

I watched some more TV and then it was time to go to grandmas place.

When we arrived at grandmas house i met alot of relatives and they all wished us a merry christmas, i loved my family alot and was very happy i got to celebrate christmas with all of my cousins and uncles and aunts ... i have about 30 cousins, and 7 uncles.

When i came inside my grandma met me with a glass of mulled wine and some gingerbread.

Then we ate a nice dinner.

After the dinner i went out in the snow to play with my cousins, we had a great time and i was very happy.

When we got back in we got some icecream and ate it infront of the fireplace.

All of a sudden it knocked on the door... i had no clue who it was since all my relatives was there already.

My grandma opened and in stepped a man with a red coat, a red hat and a big brown sack.

At first i was a bit scared but then i realized that it was Santa!

I ran in the living room and told my dad that santa was here.

Santa came in the living room and wished us a merry christmas then handed out the presents.

I opened all my presents, it was alot of toys and other nice things a 6 year old could ever dream of.

When the presents were opened i fell asleep and thats pretty much what i remember of that christmas.

Anyways i think that was the best christmas i've had, since my parents divorced shortly after and everything was crap hehe.

Sorry for my bad grammar, lol.

Well, when I spent one of my Christmas' down in the Carribean sea, diving, my air flow suddenly stopped. I made the hand symbol to another diver that my air was low, and he did soemthing with my tank to make air flow again. 5 minutes later my air started cutting off again. I asked him again. Then, as I swam away from the group I noticed one of the people who work at the dive shop swimming aorund un-noticed turning out tanks off. So, I went and turned his off, without him noticing. He sort of laughed in the regulator, and I turned it back on. Then an octopus came out form under a rock, inked, and swam back under. It killed the mood.

Well this is my entry: Essay Style!

It a was faithful morning in the year 1999, the ever posing threat of Y2K looming upon every feeble mined adult in the country. Alas I was still somewhat young, and it was the most looked forward to day of the year for any child in America. Christmas morning. As I awoke at around 5 a.m. I realized that I was way to excited about Christmas to go back to sleep. Posing a large challenge I had to than wait another 2 hours till I could wake my parents and proceed to open gifts. I began to think of all the surprises that would be held downstairs, when the fateful time of 7 am would come. As the hours passed, I glanced at the clock to see that it was now 7 am. Running gracefully to my parents room, I opened the door slowly to see them sound asleep. Than ran in jumped on their bed and proceed to yell its Christmas! Its Christmas! Running downstairs to see the holy grail of a tree, I glance at my parents my dad gives me and my siblings the nod to approve our havoc of tearing apart our gifts to find the presents beneath them. After opening several gifts, there was a large rectangular box that was put behind the tree. Confused I slid it out to a more convent location, and proceeded to unwrap the gift. Than under that wrapping paper was the greatest gift any boy at the time could imagine. A PS1!!!!!!! It was like Nintendo 64 kid all over again, I was astonished, frazzled; I simply could not believe my parents purchased a PS1 for me and my brother. That PS1 got me to where I am today in the gaming world and without it, there might not of been a PowerNos.

Long story short: I got a PS1 and freaked out, it was awesome.

Each year at Christmas time we delight to follow the wise men as they came out of the East and made their way to Bethlehem where they worshipped the new-born king and laid their treasures at his feet. But Henry Van Dyke has told us about another wise man who also followed the star not only to Bethlehem, but throughout his life, and yet he never found the king. The other wise man’s name was Artaban. He was a kind of unknown soldier who didn’t quite make the headlines. He was also one of the Magi and lived in Persia. He was a man of great wealth, great learning and great faith. With his learned companions he had searched the scriptures as to the time that the Savior should be born. They knew that a new star would appear and it was agreed between them that Artaban would watch from Persia and the others would observe the sky from Babylon.

On the night that the sign was to be given, Artaban was speaking to nine of his Magi friends in his home. He said to them, “My three brethren are watching at the ancient temple of the Seven Spheres, at Borsippa, in Babylon and I am watching here. If the star appears, they will wait for me ten days, then we will all set out together for Jerusalem. I believe the sign will come tonight. I have made ready for the journey be selling all of my possessions and have bought these three jewels–a sapphire, a ruby, and a pearl–I intend to present them as my tribute to the king. ” He said, “I invite you to make the pilgrimage with us that we may worship the new-born king together.”

While he was speaking he thrust his hand into the inmost fold of his girdle and drew out three great gems–one blue as a fragment of the night sky, one redder than a ray of the sunrise, and one as pure as the peak of a snow mountain at twilight. He would give them all to the King. Then one of Artaban’s friends Said, “Artaban, this is a vain dream. No King will ever rise from the broken race of Israel. He who looks for him is a chaser of shadows. ” Then he bid Artaban farewell and left his dwelling. Each in turn offered his own particular excuse, and finally only his oldest and truest friend remained. He said, “Artaban, I am too old for this quest, but my heart goes with thee.” Then with a hand on Artaban’s shoulder he said, “Those who would see wonderful things, must often be willing to travel alone . ” Left to himself Artaban put his jewels back into his girdle. Then he parted the curtains and went out onto the roof to again take up his vigil to watch the night sky.

As Jupiter and Saturn rolled together like drops of lambent flame about to blend into one, an azure spark was born out of the darkness beneath them, rounding itself with purple splendor into a crimson sphere.

Then Artaban, still following the king, went on into Egypt, seeking everywhere for traces of the little family that had fled before him from Bethlehem. For many years we follow Artaban in his search. We see him at the pyramids. We see him in an obscure house in Alexandria, taking counsel with a Hebrew rabbi who told him to seek the king not among the rich but among the poor. Then we follow him from place to place. He passed through countries where famine lay heavy upon the land, and the poor were crying for bread. He made his dwelling in plague-stricken cities where the sick were languishing in the bitter companionship of helpless misery. He visited the oppressed and the afflicted in the gloom of subterranean prisons. He searched the crowded wretchedness of slave-markets. Though he found no one to worship, he found many to serve. As the years passed he fed the hungry, clothed the naked, healed the sick and comforted the captive.

Once we see Artaban for a moment as he stood alone at sunrise, waiting at the gate of a Roman prison. He had taken from its secret resting place in his bosom, the last of he jewels that he was saving for the king. Shifting gleams of azure and rose trembled upon is surface. It seemed to have absorbed some of the colors of the lost sapphire and ruby; just as a noble life draws into itself its profound purpose; so that all that has helped it is transfused into its very essence, so the pearl had become more precious because it had long been carried close to the warmth of a beating human heart.

Thirty three years had now passed away since Artaban began his search and he was still a pilgrim. His hair was now white as snow. He knew his life’s end was near but he was still desperate with hope that he would find the king. He had come for the last time to Jerusalem.

It was the season of the Passover and the city was thronged with strangers. There was a singular agitation visible in the multitude. A secret human tide was sweeping them toward the Damascus gate.
