Jager Posted January 6, 2010 Content Count: 1300 Joined: 06/24/07 Status: Offline Share Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) 50 cal is also used as long range anti personnel weaponry, as far back as m2 machine gun goes, so yes 50 cal rounds can and are used for that role. is it overkill? probably, but when you can reliably reach out to a mile or more to hit targets, i dont see why it wouldnt be used. the US navy used 50 cals to snipe the hijackers/pirates holding those crewmen back on good friday of last year.
