this thread is pissing me off now, as none of you has noticed the obvious yet.

he is on about getting a hdd SATA III when it is the ONLY!!!! SATA III disk drive out there, not even ssd are sata III yet, the mobo's he could even possible go for with the processors he has chosen, dont even support SATA III at the moment, so he is waisting his money.

TNT, just post your budget that you can spend, so there is no confusion and the people who know what they are talking about can actually help you

Pete is the boss, he built mine and TCPs computer.

You're trying to say a SSD is slower than the Barracuda XT?

loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

the x25-e blows the XT out of the fucking water

as for space, itd be better to buy the x25-extreme and then like a caviar green (green because you don't want to hear it, as a SSD is also quiet) for space, i recommend the 500gb for green.

edit: even a fucking WD Caviar Black blows the XT out of the water.

the 32gb ssd would host your windows folder, allowing you to boot windows half the time than any sata 2/3 hdd

and SSD will probably be the last form of hard drive capacity up until the
