tinkerbell Posted January 21, 2010 Content Count: 1662 Joined: 05/16/07 Status: Offline Share Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) Lol everyone uses UCAS.....it's just that usually people do there AS levels in the first year, then in the second year October-January apply for University, get a conditional based on grades and then do your A levels in the summer, and start Uni September. Of course if that applied to you, you wouldn't be able to leave school now as you'd still have A level exams. its different in scotland, they have standard grade and highers. you can get into university with good standard grades ( as hv_ has got) and doesnt need to sit his highers. so he can go to university at the age of 17. highers are not really necessary, like A-levels arent in effect, as the first year of university you do the exact same stuff (maybe in a tiny bit more detail) that you did for A-level / highers. hence he sat his standard grade, applied and got accepted, he doesnt need to spend another year at school. get a job, but when your at uni, dont fuck around. get some work done Edited January 21, 2010 by tinkerbell Link to comment

tinkerbell Posted January 21, 2010 Content Count: 1662 Joined: 05/16/07 Status: Offline Share Posted January 21, 2010 bar/clubs/hotels/resturants good part time work good for like 16 hours/week or more depending on what you want to work. but the majority only pay minimum wage. and its totally the wrong time of year to apply for jobs, very very quiet now christmas is over. also people knock maccy D's but they have good rate of pay and very flexible with the amount of hours. the only downside is that, its maccy D's maybe try and tutor some of your parents-friends-kids for some money as well. supermarkets pay is extremely good, and amazing if you are willing to do the night shift, stocking shelves, and become nocturnal, so your asleep during the day and not out in the shops or pubs spending your hard earned cash. hope it helps 1 Link to comment
