But he doesn't want to get it yet since he doesnt know stick xD So right now he is looking for a beat up car for like less tahn $1000 to beat up and learn on definitely would have been better to learn on a beater, but just spend an afternoon in an empty parking lot, hardest part is taking off, everything after that is easy. just some hints/tips: 1. dont ride the clutch, i.e. if its engaged keep your foot off of it, dont want to cause unneeded wear and tear. 2. if youre coming to a stop(stop signs), just pop it into neutral and coast, no point in downshifting through the gears. now stop lights youll want to downshift, if you pop her in neutral and the light turns green youll have to guess which gear to go to. also dont worry about rev matching, no point in doing it on the streets. (if you dont know what rev matching is then ignore what i just said) 3. dont be afraid to stall it, its actually a good thing to do at first so you know when it will stall so you can prevent it. 4. hill starts can be a bitch, best way to prevent rollback is to pull in your parking brake, let off the brake pedal, start to release the clutch and as you feel it grab, slowly release the parking brake. 2 Link to comment

Picking it up tomorrow because we gotta run the check though and all that. Also got to learn stick since iv only been trained in the ways of auto Not a fan of the stock clutch in Mustangs. Personally would be the first thing I upgrade If I owned one. Preferably one with a torsion dampener. Link to comment

Probably will do that if I dont like the stock set up. I still have to learn stick first. Also my Dads a big car guy so I will also get some tips from him. We have 3 mustangs in the family now so it should be a good thing for me and him to do together. Thanks for the tips though muff. Link to comment
Im a Jackass Posted November 3, 2013 Content Count: 2105 Joined: 01/02/10 Status: Offline Share Posted November 3, 2013 So got it waxed and cleaned today also replaced all the fluids in the car (power steering, brakes, oil change, etc). Went out and drove some stick and did meh with it but im learning pretty fast. Want to get your guys opions on if I should paint the hood scoop black or not. The original paint is peeling and I think a shade of black would look great. Also have some small dings in it from the original owner and wondering if there is any cheep way of fixing it. Black would look better. As far as getting out dings and small dents. Depending on the size you can normally get them out with a heat gun and some sort of heavy duty suction cup. Which you can get for like $6 off eBay. 1 Link to comment
