DDR3 and DDr2..I know we had threads about this..

First I want to make sure that the notch key for DDR3 and DDR2 is different therefor a mobo like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128371

Would not fit DDR2 memory?

I know the voltage is different but does that really matter since the voltage is adjustable through BIOS?

second if I bought this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128372

would I loose much performance because I already have DDR2 memory bought very recently (stupid me not thinking far ahead enough)????????

*banging my head against my desk*

I wanted to get a quad 9400 and this neat little case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147135

http://www.google.com? Please? The Internet has more than porn you know.

Please ready my post, I was making sure because of confused answers from google!

please dont be retarded and know that Gigabyte makes combo mobos that use both..I was making sure that one didnt..

And please realize that I have googled and many people are confused because unlike ddr, ddr2 and 3 both use 240 pins

so please stay out of a post where you dont belong

to clarify, they knew people would try to save money, and to be douches, moved the notch for no other reason than to be dicks.

I like that analogy!!

Did you see the second mobo I posted... I think it will be a decent upgrade for now..Id like to get a Q9400 with that..what do you think. I ve read good things about the 9400 also despite it bad rep for overclocking because of the 8 multiplier Tomshardware forums had some people with pretty good result.

Ive never over clocked, Id like to try.. I know very little though so a lot more reading to do!
