New Graphic card install.

wait, so you put the card into the pci-e slot but didnt plug in the power connector(s) into the card? even if your psu had enough power, the card won't work w/o the power lol

 

I had my 8600GTS running of the mobo power for a year and half?! It worked but it said I lost slight performance because of underpowering..but it worked! then somebody gave me an 8800GTS so I upgraded my psu!

 

Have fun with your new expensive PSU! I think corsair might have been a little cheaper

trak, you're talking about a lower mid-range graphics card. true, so is a gts 260, but anything that is dual slot will pretty much refuse to power on w/o the external power. i know my 8800gtx doesn't do anything w/o the 2 pci power connectors.

Yeh I know I was just saying for some its not alway obvious to plug in the PCIe cord since it used to work without it..like me..but I was quite a newbie I didnt even know there was such a thing then..
