The PS3 is technologically superior in every way, even down to the disk format.

 

So is that why everyone owns a PS3, because the technology is better? Oh wait, better technology doesn't really mean anything if plenty of people don't care for it. Guess this point doesn't matter.

 

Microsoft loves to make you pay for features. You even have to pay to use Netflix, even if you already have a Netflix account.

 

BS on that one. I have a Netflix account and I have connected it to my Xbox Live account. Guess what, Netflix is free on the Xbox live account. You just need to have a Gold account to use it.

 

Oh, and that is if your console even works after a year...

 

I've had mine for several years and it hasn't screwed up. Maybe I just know how to take care of my electronic devices.

 

I may seem harsh on the 360 but there is a reason people are now jumping over to the PS3.

 

Nobody is jumping ship from the 360 to the PS3. The reason why people are buying the PS3 now is because it is at a more reasonable price; they aren't tossing their consoles aside for it, just adding it to their collection. Most people already owned a 360 and/or a Wii. With the price cut, Sony could finally sell their PS3 (still with a loss in profit) to many more people.

 

Either way, PC owns all.

 

So the reason for the rant?

 

 

But for single player games I would have to go for the PS3. Not a big fan of the 360's exclusives. Halo is as bland cookie cutter FPS you get and I like Army of Two a lot more over Gears of War. The PS3 has some good exclusives so far (MGS4, God of War).

 

 

Could have just said your opinion. You wouldn't have looked so stupid by trying to muddle facts if you had just stopped there. Are any consoles better overall? Nope. No need to fabricate some lines to back up your own beliefs. Just play whatever game you want and be on your way.

Are they not pretty much the same?

 

I don't usually trophy hunt (although I have in CoD....just because it's not something like "collect 100 feathers across a massive world") so it doesn't even bother me....but to choose a console for it seems a bit over the top....(although I'm going to guess that you had other reasons).

People who use achievements or trophies as a decision to purchase a game or console need to be slapped.

I would go with the Xbox360 just because its better. I dont really now anything about the PS3 other than all the good features as far as I am aware of (backwards compatibility) have been removed which along with a few PS3 exclusives would be the only reason I would have gotten one.

 

The Xbox:

It has netflix which is FREE if you already have netflix and doesnt require additional software to get like PS3.

Almost all of PS3 games are for Xbox as well.

Has better online context (only sucks that you have to have a gold Membership which isnt too bad).

Getting Achievements sounds better than trophies.

System is geared more toward gamers not familys like PS3 and Wii.

Doesnt have internet but thats what your computer is for (Which computers will always be better )

The Xbox360 will not burn your house down.

Hey kids I have a story for you guys

 

Ps3 and Xbox 360 were brothers.

They never got along.

One day they got into a big fight.

They were fighting about who had better features and better games.

And then..

Wii came out and told them to stop fighting.

They wouldnt stop fighting.

Sooo wii took out his big guns

And shot them both.

Why do people fight over this LOL. I put 360 just because that is what I have. I enjoy the 360 and I have played both. They are both great systems and they are tied in my book but I think that the 360 is better just because that is what I own.

You do download the player so you can watch Netflix on the Xbox. It isn't a huge file and I'd imagine the PS3 version being the same.

The PS3 is probably the least family oriented, at least in the US. There are more family games and settings for the 360 than the PS3 and the Wii just kills in that department. The PS3 and 360 are both equal in terms of being gamed towards gamers.

You might like the 360 better, but it doesn't make it a better console. I also don't think criticizing the PS3 is wise, especially since you admit to not knowing anything about it.
